Do they? I had seven years of it and it was a fucking miserable experience, even if it gave me the environment and opportunity to get the best education going.

Mine travels with me on Easyjet, Eurostar and the Portsmouth-St Malo ferry (as foot pax). I’ve ridden it from Bordeaux to the Med and down the Loire. Off to the Rhone this June.
As I discovered when I claimed on insurance - I hadn’t thought to specify my bikes as valuable items so they only gave me £1k, and a new one (in 2020) would have cost £2,750. I think I paid about £1,300 in 2006.

I used to have a Birdy, until it got burgled during the pandemic. Not as quick, easy or compact to fold as a Brompton, but performed as well as a 700C touring bike. I rode mine round Iceland back in the day.
Matter of taste - I don’t find it a terrible ride, and I’d say “responsive” rather than twitchy. A Brompton will do (albeit not always as well) almost anything a regular bike will do, plus one thing a regular bike won’t - travel in any form of public or private powered transport.
Does it make any difference if you hook it up to Freesat instead of Freeview?

Absolutely grim and inexcusable. It would be nice if we had a Cabinet Minister whose job covers the media and a regulator whose job it is to enforce the law, wouldn’t it?
The Iranian regime was wobbling during the protests. Trump could have financially/practically helped opposition figures. It might actually have worked, but he never gave a damn about Iranians. The most effective & least dangerous path to regime change was blocked off by his lack of empathy.
