I'm very sorry. I've not been in that position as yet, but it must be terribly tough on you.

Sorry Sarah, feels like I missed something. Hospice?
I try to avoid extrovert activities as much as possible; more so as I get older. Soon there'll be none left.π

I don't know where this image originated, but I know I want one.
This is a nice distraction from "the Troubles"!
I'm the other side of the pond, in the UK, and we have the glottal stop thing here too. I would pronounce button as "buttun", but one of my daughters "buh-uhn". She seemed to develop that pronounciation through her friend group at school.
White House post - Trump and a penguin walk towards a Greenland flag. βEmbrace the penguinβ.
There are many serious governments in the world.
The US is not one of them.
(There are no penguins in Greenland.)

βAh good, youβre awake. Please donβt bother trying to move. Now, I just have a couple of questions for you. If you answer truthfully, this can all be over quickly, but if I think youβre lying, I will introduce you to my friend Klaus over there, and trust me, you donβt want that.β

A pheasant who gets highly annoyed at people constantly accusing it of not being a real pheasant, with real feelings, and of actually being made by hand by a talented member of a community fibre arts group.

A tall and solid pig who is selflessly allowing his shorter friend to lean on him so he can obtain a clearer view of the beginning of what is promising to be one of the most attractive sunsets of the year.

Some excellent pigs I have met on walks in the British countryside.

Did you actually live in Iceland, Sarah, or was this a photography adventure (or both!)?
Love Iceland. Earlier in life, we were plotting to spend a year in Akureyri, but decided against it to avoid putting our cat through a month's quarantine (the cat has abandonment issues!)
Peer-reviewed and published in JAMA, but lots of folks will still listen to their tribeβs preferred influencers rather than hard science because they think belonging is more important than health.
As you can see here, right from the very first day he entered our house, Jim found great difficulty in getting settled and making the environment his own.
THREAD.
3 years ago, with no warning, a brilliant orange farm cat wandered over from the draughty barn where he had been living, in rural Cornwall, and decided he wanted to live with us instead.
We decided to call him Jim.
This is the first photo I took of him, on that night: December 1st, 2022.
There is now an immediate ban on new fur farms in Poland, and all existing farms will close by the end of 2033 at the latest.
Poland is Europe's largest fur producer.
Iβd like to extend this to ALL members of Congress and the Supreme Court

TIL I learned there is a What3Words Squealing Piggy Trump on the Isle of Man.
You have a lovely view, or will have once the machinery's gone!
Gasp! I forgot Zuri pics. Inexcusable!
It's difficult to choose one, but photos of your cooking and cat photos rank highly.
Tony Blairβs catastrophic decision to invade Iraq cost thousands upon thousands of lives.
He shouldnβt be anywhere near the Middle East, let alone Gaza.
It is not up to Blair, Trump or Netanyahu to decide the future of Gaza. That is up to the people of Palestine.
In other words, 94% of those killed in Gaza since March 25 were civilians - up from 83% in the first 1.5 years of this genocidal war.
Another symptom of stage 2 of the Gaza Genocide under Trump: fewer casualties so far, but targeting almost entirely civilians.
