The rugby! You couldn’t make that up. Insanely entertaining. Well done France. Sorry Ireland but you’re not allowed two victories in one day! #SixNations

Easier to say when you’re drunk fella!
Playing at Bannerman’s in Edinburgh’s Cowgate today as usual from 3:30-5:30pm. Maximum rock’n’roll. Free Entry!
However, if I wasn’t working I’d be in The Bridge Inn, Peebles watching the rugby and drinking this excellent brew. Slainte! #ComeOnScotland #6Nations
The Tweed Valley today. I love this place.
Great song by a great band. They were the first rock band I ever saw live way back in 1978. 🎼👍🎼
In the pub just after midday. Why? Because we’re celebrating. Granted it may be a tad premature but then again …it might not. Lovely pint of Vikingr by Orkney Brewery.
I’ve no idea who this band are but when any band shows up using umlauts in their name I’ll always give them a firm salute. #PubRock
Yeah. Thats why I used the loppers and left the chainsaw in the shed! 😎
“The Scottish Cup Fuck Quarter Finals” ??? 😎😎😎
🎼”Don’t Fear The Pruner” 🎼 #Gardening
For me it was REM, World Party and…er…The Glitterband (sans Leader). Hoochie Coochie Club also frequented. Decent venue in its day.
Pruning! #ThingsYouDoInYour60s
I’ve been there many times before. They’ve reduced the abv on this one since the time I drank 6 pints, a bottle of Prosecco then tried to cycle home…. 🎼😳🎼
Back in The Bridge Inn, Peebles for the first time in a while, drinking the only citrus infused brew I can tolerate. I know it looks like a pint of fresh orange but it’s actually “Long White Cloud” by nearby brewers the Tempest Brewing Co. It’s more than decent. 👍🍺👍
This is fantastic news! For any Richard Thompson fans who haven’t seen or even heard of Hamish Hawk ( @hamishhawk.bsky.social ) you’re in for a sizeable treat!
Can’t wait!
Absolutely delighted to have bumped into lovely Simone Lahbib at the BBC Scotland studios today. Haven’t seen her in 32 years. Still looks very much like her 15 year old self when I first met her back in 1979.
Me on the other hand….Well, I haven’t weathered quite so well. 🎭😎🎭
I think I’ve just discovered my favourite new pub….
Another day, another “costume” change.
I’ve brought pretty much all of my admittedly limited wardrobe selection.
To be fair “man in pub” doesn’t really require Danny La Rue type threads…
Sunday dinner at Kebab Mahal before heading to Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms to see Gordon Buchanan talking about his wildlife escapades. Then it’s off west pronto to prepare for filming tomorrow. Booked a hotel near the studio because I can’t be arsed facing Glasgow’s ballache roadworks at 6am.
I last saw them in Glasgow around 2003. Small venue. Still very good but couldn’t quite deliver the same way as they did in 1978. And I wasn’t 15 any more. ☹️
Celebrating the 51st anniversary (a day late) of this epic live album’s release. It’s “On Your Feet Or On Your Knees” by my favourite band when I was 15 - Blue Öyster Cult.
Saw a very recent video of them playing and they’re still great, but this featured the classic line up.
Multiple episodes of “High Road” from 1996-99. A few episodes of “Taggart” around the same time. A gangster movie called “Shooters” with a certain Gerard Butler in 1999. Then I took a 22 year “sabbatical” returning with a brief appearance in “Crime 2” a couple of years ago. And now this! 🎭😎🎭
Top Secret but I’ll spill the beans as soon as I’m permitted to. 🎭😎🎭
11 years gone.
He lived long and prospered.
Leonard Nimoy.
It’s 30 years since I started doing film & TV extra work. I’m nowhere near as busy as I was back then but it’s still great fun to do the odd, sometimes very odd, shoot. Today I’m doing a secret thing at a secret location. 5 am rise. 90 mile drive. Multiple roadworks. Fun though!
Song Of The Day is “Fool To Cry” by The Rolling Stones. One of very few singles I bought twice as I wore the first copy out after buying it on first release. Special mention for Nicky Hopkins smashing it out of the park on this one.

Great tune. Her appearances on Top Of The Pops around that time sparked up some peculiar feelings in the 11 year old me. And I suspect I wasn’t the only one! 🎼😎🎼
In the excellent film “I Swear” John Davidson is seen “road testing” a special bracelet designed to reduce tics and involuntary outbursts in Tourette’s sufferers. I was curious to discover what progress had been made since and now I know. #Baftas

Watching the @bafta.org awards and hoping that “I Swear” completely sweeps the board.
