You gotta tailor your message to your audience.
If you’re talking to people who don’t vote out of laziness or ignorance, maybe shame is a good strategy.
If someone did the research and made a conscious decision not to vote, you’re wasting your time and theirs whining about “civic responsibility”.

I’ll never understand browbeating people who willfully don’t vote.
Even if you think Kamala and Hillary shouldn’t have to “earn” votes (wrong, but whatever), the shaming strategy clearly hasn’t worked.
Be frustrated in private and go do the difficult labor of actually winning people over.

Voting is not compulsory. To vote in itself is a political act - you express confidence not only in what you vote for but in the process you’re voting through.
To not vote is also a political act. You can interrogate that act, but you can’t render it invalid as political expression.
