Gen AI is such a symptom of this insane capitalist hellscape because what do you mean I saw someone I know made her AI-self chat with her mom in her place like girlllllll what's next should the AI play video games for you too

HEARTBREAKING: Someone you know wrote an article that sounds informative and interesting, but they chose to publish it on Substack - the Nazi Bar newsletter service - so you will never willingly read it.

I'm very, very excited by what we've accomplished so far with The Dumpster Heist. Like mad scientists, Phil and I have cross-bred a party game and a TTRPG to produce... a Raccoon Party Game 🦝

We want this to be a game anyone can play - no RPG or improv experience needed!

bart simpson is laying in bed with a pillow and a blanket . Alt: Bart Simpson lying in bed, awake.

Spent half an hour yesterday trying to fix a bug where my math kept applying backwards. Turns out I accidentally rotated the viewport and I was just looking at things from the wrong side. I still haven't fully recovered.

After outages, Amazon to make senior engineers sign off on AI-assisted changes AWS has suffered at least two incidents linked to the use of AI coding assistants.

Amazon’s website and shopping app went down for nearly six hours this month in an incident the company said involved an erroneous β€œsoftware code deployment.”

When I released my addons for public use, I promised myself:
- Main user is me
- Provide zero support

So heads up: Huge, BREAKING changes are coming to the TilePath3D addon. I put the current version on freeze in a "classic" branch: tinyurl.com/tilepathclas...

Ok fine i’ll do a real #WhatAGameDev looks like. I am at GDC but my favourite spot is my hotel room alone.

I’m a generalist but my strongest skills are in art, marketing and production. I’ve been in games for 16 years and despite everything I don’t plan on leaving. Currently consulting!!

My 3rd GDC talk was my first one at GDC USA

This talk was on how Game Design choices can both create (often accidentally) & reduce/remove conditions in which antisocial behaviour is likely to occur

We can design to make better social spaces!

I also had a bad cough during it :(

Added auto cylinder collider generation to the pipes. The authoring/iteration speed is craaaaazy.😍 Plus, cylinder colliders are more performant than mesh colliders.🐧πŸͺ

I built a procedural medieval island map generator using Wave Function Collapse on hex grids. 4,100 cells, 900 possible states per cell, 60fps on mobile. Wrote up the whole process with lessons learned. Links below πŸ‘‡ #threejs #webgpu

I had to tell him, yes, truly 15/85 in our favor.

Honestly, AI slop PRs are becoming increasingly draining and demoralizing for #Godot maintainers.

If you want to help, more funding so we can pay more maintainers to deal with the slop (on top of everything we do already) is the only viable solution I can think of:

My slide photos are pretty mediocre but they’re laying out how they stuck closely to vanilla Unreal Engine and swore off heavily modifying it.

when I was a kid I thought executives at these big companies didn't seem smart then I got to college and saw the challenges of coordinating technical teams I thought maybe I'd underestimated them then worked at EA off and on a few years met some executives and quit because I was right the first time

you have more in common with a homeless person than *any* member of the gentry. remember that and don't forget it -- class issues and disparities affect movements far, far more than we talk about, particularly within marginalized groups.
