I was just added to someone’s list titled “People Who Have Blocked Me” and I’m wondering why someone would make that. Pride? Butt-hurt? Hit list?
For what it’s worth, they were auto-blocked by one of the lists I subscribe to for pro-AI/NFT/crypto fuckers, so butt-hurt is most likely.

I tossed my FitBit and deleted the app/my account once they merged with some company (I think it was Google) that basically said “all your base are belong to us or no more steps for you.”
I never liked that judgy fucking thing anyway. I’ll move when I want to, asshole. Pedometers work just fine.

It was glorious. If I were one of the cool kids and knew how to use this newfangled technology, I’d shoot a video to share. Wheels! Huge ones like 25-50 pounds! I don’t know what I would do with it, but I would love to buy a wheel of cheese one day. Maybe to sit on the shelf to age.

An assortment of seven different cheese selections made at the fabulous cheese kiosk a local grocery store now has that my husband has been encouraging me to visit for nearly a year now (see quoted thread for details). Left to right along the top are: Wensleydale with cranberries in a ziploc baggie (as I sampled it before taking this picture and it was fabulous), Teahive Beehive white cheddar, Havarti Dill, Halloumi, and a bag of dill pickle flavored white cheddar cheese curds. The bottom row left to right is a container of Spicy 3 Pepper cheddar cheese curds and a container of smoked Gouda cubes.
As promised.

Behold!
So the 3 pepper spicy cheese is cheddar (curds; also formerly impossible to find outside the city), with jalapeño, orange habanero, and sweet red. The tea cheese is (“Teahive Beehive”) also a cheddar, and the dill curds are dill PICKLE, which is better.

It was disclosed and believe me there was serious consideration of ability to cohabitate, but once he assured me he had no problem cooking with cheese for me, I decided to chance it. He’s a keeper.

jerry from tom and jerry is holding a large piece of cheese
Alt: GIF of jerry from tom and jerry holding a large wedge of cheese, stuffing it in his mouth whole, then taking on the shape of the wedge
I’ve never been a fan of goat cheese, but there were a couple that tempted me. There were also dips and spreads on offer, as well as paneer, cotija, and other authentic quesos I will be trying when I find a good recipe for them.
Definitely worth the sojourn to the grocery store. 7/7

I spent far too much money and regret nothing. I forgot to take a picture of my haul before putting it in the fridge, but I’ll try and get one later.
(I’ve already broken into the Wensleydale.)
Suffice to say, there will hopefully be more cheese in my future. There were so many I want to try. 6/

Mr. James had been encouraging me for months to accompany him to see the cheese. I was reluctant for many reasons, not the least of which was the attempt by another grocery store at a cheese kiosk which consisted of Boursin and TWO types of feta.
He was justified in saying “I told you!” 5/

For context, I live two hours away from the nearest metropolitan area and for years we’ve only had about six kinds of cheese available anywhere. Marscapone was something you got in the city. You might be able to find ricotta if you were lucky and got to the store early on dairy delivery day. 4/

I bought so much cheese.
Wendsleydale with cranberries ( @skyladawn.ca knows; I did ask about carmelized onion but they were out for the season).
Something cured with black tea and bergamot. Halloumi. Havarti dill. CHEESE CURDS WITH DILL. Three pepper whatever. Cubed smoked Gouda. 3/

(Note: Mr. James hates cheese. Loathes. This applies to most things dairy, but cheese is top of his hatred list, so for him to extol the marvels of the cheese counter is extraordinary.)
Darklings.
There were WHEELS.
Wax rinds.
Cheeses I’d only seen in Europe/on TV or heard of online. 2/

Mr. James has been telling me about the cheese kiosk at a local grocery store for almost a year now. I rarely go grocery shopping (it’s one of his favorite things to do; he’s the cook in our house), and hate shopping in general, so I have been reluctant to see it for myself.
Today I did. 1/

Grizzly bear.
I would come out from behind the counter, point firmly at the door, and say in my very best Southern Church Lady* voice, “Go on now, honey. Ain’t nothin’ here for you.”
(Provided Griz didn’t actually come to purchase a book, in which case I would help them like any other customer.)

How a High School Librarian in Abilene Fought Back Against Moms for Liberty
I entered this profession just as the storm clouds of the current book-banning push were starting to gather; now I’m in the middle of it.
"It isn’t that I’m more afraid of public speaking than death; it is that public speaking feels like it could cause my death. But I do it every month because I am a high school librarian in the state of Texas in times such as these."

Donald Trump is notorious for filing lawsuits at the drop of a hat. He's filed over 4,000 of them. Many for defamation.
But Donald *will not* sue Ted Lieu for defamation. Why? He's been told by lawyers that in defamation actions, truth is an absolute defense.
