@aspergianer.bsky.social Auf ADHS brauche ich mich nicht diagnostizieren zu lassen. Ich bin so dermaßen fokussiert und nicht leicht ablenkbar, das macht meiner Partnerin, die sowohl Autistin als auch ADHS’lerin ist, schon manchmal Angst. 😉

Und es war unglaublich erleichternd, endlich die Sicherheit zu haben, dass sich der Verdacht bestätigt hatte, der schon jahrelang bestand. Und Erklärungen für so viele Dinge zu haben, die im Leben gewesen sind, wie sie waren.

@aspergianer.bsky.social So war es bei mir auch. Ich, CIS-männlich, war 46, als ich endlich die Diagnose hatte. Bei mir musste auch noch sortiert werden, was durch die seit Geburt bestehende Blindheit kam, was davon den Autismus maskiert hatte usw.

Nun ja, Politiker*innen die derzeit z. B. im Berliner Politzirkus sichtbar sind oder sich in dem einen oder anderen Bundesland profiliert haben. Kannst Du Dir da derzeit irgendjemanden als guten Ersatz für Merz vorstellen?

@taliesin82.bsky.social Ah, thanks! I am a blind viewer, and the audio description didn’t capture that detail. From the narrative alone, it certainly sounded like Trek was once again completely ignoring the third dimension.

And yes, I know Trek has done this time and time again for the story's sake, but stuff like this completely ruins the suspense for me. I look forward to the "WTH just happened" and the "ups and downs" for this one from @trekculture.bsky.social

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy Starfleet Academy. I find it intersting that we're not dealing with a fully graduated experienced crew, and I find at least some of the characters rather interesting, too. But this stuff takes me out of the episode. It's just such utter nonsense.

Besides the fact that he should have created a bubble instead of a wall, how many mines were there that he could deploy this ring around the whole of Federation space in such a relatively short time? Just how small is Federation space?

I first cringed when Ake ordered to scan for the shuttle in 360 degrees. But the really bad one came when they discovered that Braka created a ring of mines around Federation space. A "wall" they couldn't get through. Well just fly up a few lightyears and drop in behind that wall then.

OK, so what is it with Trek that they just don't treat space like the three-dimensional realm that it is, but always treat is as if it were two-dimensional?

@hoaxmistress.bsky.social Ja, ganz schlimm! Und das Erschreckende ist, dass Millionen von US-Amerikanern genauso denken, weil sie über Jahrzehnte oder Jahrhunderte von diesen christlichen Fundamentalisten beeinflusst wurden. Der Dara hat da auf YouTube gestern ein ziemlich gutes Video zu gemacht.

@seanwhiter.bsky.social Stimmt. Ich erinnere mich noch an seine Zeit im Bundestag, als Schröder Bundeskanzler war und Merz den internen Kampf gegen Merkel geführt hat. Ich fand den Typen schon damals einfach nur schlimm.

On iPad, everything works great. On MacOS, as soon as I start interacting with the collection view, the first item is spoken correctly, but if I then VO+RightArrow to go to the next item, everything is just read as „collection view button“. [2]

A question for #iOS and #Mac developers: I have two iPad apps I am trying to use on the Mac using VoiceOver, and both exhibit the same problem. They have collection views, and inside of them, timeline items, episode lists etc. [1]

Some great insight there! It would seem that the makers of the two animated series definitely communicated better than sometimes ssemed to be the case between the teams of Picard, Discovery and Strange New Worlds. I'm so bummed that Prodigy is not available with AD right now.

Even the progress meter that appeared once the migration process started, was correctly used, and when focused on it, the screen reader even reported the changes automatically. My profile is now hosted on European servers. [2]
