The thing about the MAGAfacation of media is even after he’s gone every tan suit latte salute fainting couch pearl clutching outrage cycle will now be cranked up to 11.

I have been a state government lawyer for ten years and ever day I am cognizant that I am speaking on behalf of the state and that the shenanigans and snarky lawyer language of private practice is inappropriate, and then I see this vile woman just toss decorum out the window.

Trump wouldn’t be able to do what he’s doing if he didn’t have a huge amount of elite support.

Half the Democratic Party is cool with this war - including its leader in the Senate.

Trump is going to nuke Tehran and Dems’ primary objection will be that he didn’t ask them first, the second will be that it didn’t lower the price of eggs, and only a handful will say it was per se wrong.

How many of the β€œIraq has WMD and will welcome us with open arms” people suffered hits to their credibility? None. They’re all out there as paid NYT columnists or think tank β€œfellows.”

If I had been that wrong as a normal lawyer, no one would trust me again and I’d be chasing ambulances.

Republican admins should be terminal to people whose jobs depend on their credibility but instead nope, no matter how wrong/dumb/bad-faith/naive their take, no matter how much being so very wrong would sink careers in any other field, these pundits and columnists all remain well-paid for being wrong

I called my rep @chu.house.gov three times this week to ask if she was going to move to censure these racist fucks or do more than post on Instagram and all three times they had no response.

A moment that should provide complete moral clarity and Dems can’t even find their feet.

I called @chu.house.gov and asked if she was going to condemn or introduce an impeachment resolution and all I got was blather and a total lack of moral conviction.

I asked all of @chu.house.gov’s staffers if she had any response to this fascism and all of them had no idea.

Filing articles of impeachment would be a start (yes, I know that starts in the House).

Holding up government business until Hegseth resigns.

Doing more than just posting into the ether.

But to also be clear, Dems won’t lift a finger or do a thing to hold these people accountable.

β€œWelcome home, Mr. President.”

And HOW ARE YOU GOING TO DO THIS?

Dems: big on saying β€œit’s time for x to happen!” but not so big on trying to actually make x happen.

I've called @chu.house.gov every day this week about the awful Islamophobia coming from Republicans and none of her staffers had even the slightest response.

No "she's going to introduce a motion to censure these guys" or even "she thinks it's awful."

Just endless triangulation.

I stopped gambling (mostly) last year and the way the books hound you with notifications/emails to Get Back In The Game should 100% be illegal
like if Coors could text drinkers "15 days since your last beer ... sounds like you need an ice cold Coors Light" and also their phone could give them a beer

YOU ARE PART OF CONGRESS SO WHAT SPECIFIC STEPS ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE?

I cannot describe properly in words how much it infuriates me to my bone that there were people out there that were allowed to act like Right Wingers, RIGHT WINGERS, were free speech champions

4th Cir., 2-1, affirms a jury finding that the operators of the Abu Ghraib Prison in 2008 are liable for conspiracy to commit torture and conspiracy to commit cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment under the Alien Tort Statute.

Damages awarded: $42 million.

I’m not sure there have been any wars since the Korean War that would necessarily make one proud of one’s country.

12.03.2026 18:57 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 2 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Absolutely. We need to punish subversion of democracy far more severely and the act of undermining the rights of others should be treated as an intentional waiver of your own.

This is a guy who thinks his fitness boxing with his trainer and playing call of duty are the equivalent of having landed on Omaha Beach.

So what are you doing about it other than talking?

12.03.2026 16:14 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

is there a term for how too many people fucked something up for there to be any consequences?

like, legitimately any ceo that used company money to donate to trump should be fired on the spot for contributing to the destruction of the economy right? like it was obvious and they are stupid

12.03.2026 14:37 πŸ‘ 948 πŸ” 106 πŸ’¬ 27 πŸ“Œ 11

Yeah, but Dems are too busy reciting the consultants’ lines about grocery prices to actually go on the attack.

Musk is going to say he’s going to build this and at least 20 million Americans will believe him and the GOP will shovel a few more billion into his coffers.

not sure why everyone thinks this is such a big problem when an obvious solution exists

im just really fucking sick of spending my entire adult life lurching from one worldwide economic disaster to another all because people pretend republicans arent dumb as dog shit morons completely detached from reality

i think jamelle bouie is where i got this point from (though its obviously not unique to him): trump doesnt escape consequences so much as the institutions designed to impose consequences refuse to penalize him. this is absolutely not the same thing. hes not magic, people are just lazy and stupid.

Our FBI has less credibility than the National Enquirer.
That's where we're at.

I have nothing to learn from fascists or Republicans and their ideas should all be rejected out of hand.
