Just ordered a shirt that says “my compassion is not political.” About to wear it proudly this weekend.

The gap closed up before it hit, but we still had a mild storm for all the warnings.
Screenshot of a weather radar image showing a weather front approaching us (blue dot.) The front has a break in it, and it looks like we might miss the intense parts.
There’s something about our area that causes fronts to sort of split as they approach us. You can see it happening on the radar. Doesn’t happen every time, but it’s a frequent phenomenon.
Chekov, the GOAT of the short story genre.
Yep. I’d like some rain to knock down the pollen, too. I’m really seeing the yellow snow today.
Chaos 🙄
Kia, the chais monster
I sent a screenshot of this to hubby at work and got an immediate panicked response. “What did they get into today?” 😂
Kia once dug up a whole azalea bush.
Welcome to the Azelastine club. I use that + Flonase + Xyzal. Hope it helps you.
If the (supposed) problem with DEI is that it promotes people into positions they don't merit, here's the prime example.
A gray and white cat lies on a fuzzy beige blanket in her human’s lap.
Spare some good thoughts for daughter’s little kitty Kris who is getting spayed today!
The Sword and the Star is a political thrill ride ripped from tomorrow’s headlines. The European Union president has severed all ties with the United States and has dissolved NATO. Iran’s nuclear facilities have been destroyed by Israel. What should be the prelude to war leads to a peace treaty in the Middle East brokered by the European Union or so it appears. In The Sword and The Star, author Daymon Andrews takes the reader on a twisting roller coaster ride of political intrigue as Alex Stanton, Special Assistant to the President, uncovers a political threat to the peace. Faith and politics collide as Alex races to find proof before a nuclear holocaust is unleashed.

A high school classmate of mine published this novel in 2008. He imagines NATO dissolved by the EU and Iran’s nuclear facilities destroyed by Israel. I won’t give the ending away except to say it definitely ain’t gonna happen like he imagines, but we could dream.
Kia just thought she was obeying the shake command, but we knew better!

He’d like that!
Awwww, what a sweet story of Sweet Pea and and your princess and pirate. They were all lucky to have you.
Somebody on here recently posted that they made salmon with a potato/lentil hash, and I went searching for recipes. Made this tonight. Threw in a cpl of diced yukon gold potatoes in the hash. Was good but not great. Needed something spicy. Red pepper flakes? www.foodandwine.com/recipes/roas...
Stews are a good choice! He has bfast and lunch covered. He grows blueberries in the yard and has raisin bran/blueberries for bfast. He wants, and entertains no other options, for lunch, a “boxed meal.” (Frozen meal.)
Great idea! Thanks!
Quiche is a great idea!
Ooooh, thanks!
Hard for me to understand that a grown man doesn’t know how to work any appliance in his house but the microwave, but here we are. Trying to find somebody who can come over and clean/do laundry. I live 3 hrs away.
Yes - I make soup often. Will def include it on the list!
Meatloaf is definitely something he likes!
My 89-year-old dad is losing his helper at home until the end of the school year due to a temporary family situation. That means I’m cooking food for his freezer. So far, I’ve put up some individual lasagnes that he can thaw and microwave. Pls share your fave freezer meals! He doesn’t eat beans.
That good inspiration for me!
Thank you! I’m wondering if I can make it a weekly habit…
Well, Kia joined us, and they started rough-housing which was not compatible with my nap, so I had to say no to both!
