Alexei Navalny ist tot. Putin und sein Regime haben so oft versucht ihn umzubringen, einmal konnte er in Deutschland gerettet werden. Die Hoffnung auf ein anderes Russland darf nicht sterben.
Haha okay. Anyway, a really nice feature!
Good point! I however just meant on the actual jpeg file since they seem redundant there. Idk, probably just a matter of taste.
Really nice function! Maybe make the dots in the top right corner invisible on a shared image? Or any reason against it?

An abrupt halt to 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮 would cause Germany's economy to shrink by 5% in the short run, comparable to the slum following the financial or COVID crisis. In the longer term, the loss will stabilize at around 1.5% annually. Gradual reduction would avoid the high initial costs. This is...1/2

Very much enjoyed yesterday’s Helmut Schmidt Lecture 2023 in Berlin held by Moritz @schularick.bsky.social (@kielinstitute.bsky.social) on Remaking Globalization. Would be interesting to see new streams of economic thought that further investigate the efficiency-security trade-off.
“In both its spatial and temporal aspects, global climatic change stands almost alone among the world's environmental problems” (Copper, 1978). Institutions haven’t yet adapted enough. Let’s see if #COP28 turns out to be “incremental” or “transformative.”

This is the main figure form our paper. It shows the marriage earnings gap: women's earnings drop by 20% after they get married. The gap is even larger (50%) when not accounting for the child penalty.
The first result is a descriptive fact: After marriage, female earnings drop by 20% (solid line, accounting for the child penalty). We combine admin and survey data from Germany here. But it’s not a German feature! We document a marriage gap for other European countries.
