Happy International Bagpipe Day!

'The Bagpipes' by Richard McLauchlan is a diverse history of the pipesβ€”from inspiring terror on battlefields to enriching cultures worldwide.

We are aware of recent reports regarding targeted phishing attacks that have resulted in account takeovers of some Signal users, including government officials and journalists. We take this very seriously. 1/7

Foraged Info - 2026.03.09 A salty middle-aged women laments the loss of privacy, the rise of prediction markets, and ends with Canadian and puppet humour.

Well, @digbie.bsky.social, that sounds like a DSTV topic. I'm notoriously unengaging with deeper thoughts on short post formats like this. Too hard to dig into complex thoughts quickly and in bits. I do think your hunch is right, particularly if the idea of development is tied solely to capitalism.

If there was one thing that should be banned in (not-so) emerging tech, it's wearables like glasses that record everything. What benefits could possibly outweigh the risks of this in the wild?

Yeah. I think Landman in particular exemplifies that, although the women characters are infuriating. It could be a bridge type of show, or a gateway show depending on the pathway.

Yeah. Jobs, opportunity, change. More of a push-pull factor. That’s probably why I haven’t left yet - not enough of a push factor, and the pull hasn’t been strong enough. I’ll just have to live vicariously through you!

I would think usually it’s circumstance - something pushes people to want to leave. Then what happens where they land is different - do they seek out people who are familiar? Others might not and avoid it.
