But like at the same time I have to respect the move. Plus it's nice to know for absolute certainty that even if our, the player's journey in Almia has since ended, the protagonist we left behind is still having adventures long after.

It is absolutely wild to me that they jump straight to Kellyn for this line, simultaneously confirming that the male protagonist is the canon one for Shadows of Almia, and that is 100% his name.
They could've played it safe and name dropped Keith or something, but no, they just go for it.

Calco, a Midlander Hyur with gray hair and dressed in primarily greys and black, standing in Ul'dah with his arms crossed and his eyes closed. "Not that I'm not happy to see you..." he says.
"...but how in the hells did you two even get here?" he says as the camera pulls back to reveal he's speaking to Dancing Green and Sugar Riot. "We have our ways. Don't sweat it." is what Dancing Green replies. "More important than that..." Sugar Riot begins to say.
"I can't believe you never told us that all this time you were dressed as the Seneschal Prince!" Sugar Riot exclaims, referring to Calco's jacket he has worn all this time. Denying the claim, Calco replies "That's because I'm not.", to which Dancing Green says bluntly "It's literally the same jacket, bro."
Annoyed, Calco looks away from the pair, saying "Even if it was, which it isn't, I've had mine for longer. I should think that rather he's dressed as me." Conceding the point, Sugar Riot says "That does make some sense. It sounds like you're something of a celebrity here..."
