The classic trolley problem, re-imagined with a billionaire on the track vs everyone else, and another billionaire at the switch. Obviously, the billionaires conspire to save each other, not us.
Billionaires conspire to save each other at the expense of everyone else, phrased as a variation of Philippa Foote's trolley problem.
I've sadly forgotten the source of the image.

Like the Toshiba television named "BS Bazooka" (regrettably accurate).
Like the Pontiac car named "Banshee" (spirit whose wails announce a family death).
Or like ChatGPT in French (βChat, jβai pΓ©tΓ©.β)

Ok, then: one of those is clearly preferable.
Which means, in this timeline, it's the other one.
When "not actively burning anymore" is the GOOD news... you're in our timeline.
The other thing the Instant Pot did was make pressure cooking much more SAFE.
If you don't have to monkey with it, there's less chance you'll open it at a stupid time and get burned by live steam.
I'm fond of GK Chesterton, in a love-hate sort of way: master of the compassionate bon mot, but annoyingly conservative in a late 19th century way.
_The Man Who Was Thursday_ is hilarious (but w/lame ending). Translate "anarchist" to "terrorist" & it's almost modern.

Here's a walkthrough of the Alqvist, et al. paper showing that (a) there is no link to acetaminophen once you take into account genetics, and (b) aspirin even looks mildly protective.
It's *awesomely* well powered, using all Swedish births for 25 years.

Another regrettably accurate summary.
Also: sorta like the 1850s, starring ICE re-enacting the Fugitive Slave Act.
A high-powered Chicago law firm announced a plan Monday to push for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate and potentially charge the agents who carried out Operation Midway Blitz.

Iβve had my EV for 8 years now. It is fantastic. No maintenance. No gas. Charges at home automatically. I donβt understand why anyone still bothers with gas cars.
Rick Steves is one of those people w/such a warm personality he can charm anybody into just about anything.
I'd tour w/him, destination unimportant, just to hang out w/him & his friends for a while.
He hosted a good Boston Pops concert a few years ago:

Umm... I think that's a baby Godzilla?
A perfect reminder than your median Congressperson is the *second* smartest car dealership owner in their district.
You could always impose an exit tax of 100% of assets over $100 million.
With that much, you can still be comfortable anywhere in the world. B ut leaving billions behind means you can't threaten the US economy.
For the bottom 40% of families, California taxes are LOWER than states like Florida and Texas.
In fact, 16 other states tax LOW-WAGE earners MORE than California taxes our HIGH-WAGE earners.
The evidence is clear, and the numbers don't lie.
Ah, but don't forget the Dutch stroopwafel!
(Really more of a "cookie", in American parlance. But it's got that "wafel" subset, so...)

There's a guy out here named Joseph who appears to want to talk to you, but honestly we can't make out a word he says.

You have my attention.
I hope you don't mind if I defer to your gustatory expertise, instead of trying it myself.
No one can accuse them of mislabelling.
Therewith ends a list of their virtures.
I wrote a quick little explainer on my blog about Henning Jacobson. It was a curiously Boston-centric thing, so there was local interest.
Side note: Henning Jacobson, Immanuel Pfeiffer, and Samuel Durgin were all inexplicably handsome!

there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for
Ah. Well, nix on any trigger for IBS.
There's always hard sauce/brandy butter!
Well, there are recipes... basically just boil cider for an unreasonably long time.
(Though the word "cider" means something decidedly different in your area.)

New England Boiled Cider, basically apple cider reduced 8:1, is a completely *amazing* tart-sweet apple syrup on waffles.
Also bakes very nicely: punches the apple flavor button *hard*, and turns slightly bitter when baked -- a more adult flavor.
