Trump saying today that the war is “pretty much over” (probably because he saw oil jump to $117). He still doesn’t understand that this won’t end when he decides the bombing stops. Iran is way past negotiating and is vowing to fight to the end. You cannot put this genie back in the bottle.

Oil prices just hit $90, a day after cracking $80. We are gonna see gas prices at $3.50/gal or higher very soon. Fill up for under $3/gal before it’s too late.

You just know Trump has been desperately looking for an off ramp and Israel keeps ensuring there is none. Make no mistake Israel is the one country that benefits the most from absolute chaos in the region, so they’re doing everything they can to make sure this war is long and destructive.
Another sign that this war is not going how they expected. If they were preparing for weeks/months instead of days this would have been issued before any strikes commenced. Now US citizens are at risk.
There’s really no conceivable way the US is gonna be able to full defeat Iran unless they commit to a ground invasion of 500k-1 million troops, which the US public has zero appetite for.

Every war in my lifetime has been preceded by or shortly after beginning, an address from the President laying out justification, war goals, and a timeline. This administration has done none of that.

It sounds like the Straight of Hormuz, of which 20-25% of the world’s oil supply flows through, is currently closed. No naval traffic to speak of.

What this sounds like to me is that the joint US-Israeli strikes were highly successful at taking out the political leadership of Iran, leaving only the military hardliners in charge, who are much more eager to expand it to a regional conflict. Might be why we’ve seen attacks on Gulf nations too.
