I'm reminded of the phrase: What if they gave a war and nobody came?

Think of: What if they gave a party and nobody came?

No one has to go to a party, and no one has to go to a war.

Imagine if all (or even most) military personnel said no to participating in an illegal, racist, fascist war.

Not long ago Cohen was a regular guest on the MeidasTouch Youtube channel. What happened that made him go back to being a Trump supporter?

It's actually a skipper butterfly.

Is that in your yard? What is in the holes?

Heather, like you I'm very interested in unusual (aberrant) colors, shapes, sizes, patterns, etc., of life forms. For quite awhile I have been especially interested in aberrant checkerspot butterflies, although I'm always on the lookout for anything odd, including aberrant plants.

Other people posted photos of this duck on eBird back in 2009. That's probably the year that I photographed it but the dates in the files of my photos are variable for some reason. I know that it was in the Fall because the tree leaves were orange. Notice the reflection on the water in one photo.

Here's a Mallard + Wood Duck at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden a long time ago. I really miss going there. It's just too far away and I've had transportation problems for several years. I may be homeless in a few months. Hmm, I wonder if I could get away with living in that park. ;)

Yep, it is a good looking bird.

Some people may also be thinking that the speckled breast is like a Gadwall but a male GW Teal has a similarly speckled breast, and you're right about the bill and legs.

Whatever it is it's very interesting.

22.02.2026 20:23 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, the head colors are indicative of a gw teal.

Could it instead be a Mallard + Green winged Teal?

Or Gadwall + Green Winged Teal?

I think that it's the former but I could be wrong. :)

It's a moth, but I don't know which species. I looked at several websites that show Washington moths but couldn't find it. It's possible that it isn't a native Washington moth. Do you have any more photos of it?

22.02.2026 15:45 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Is that a painting?

22.02.2026 14:24 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

It is exquisite.

Why is it in a container?

What species?

Photo?

Is it normal for a female Dotted Border to have wings like that? If so, are they able to fly?

22.02.2026 13:10 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

That is very interesting.

Where?

Do you know the scientific name of it?

Is it in the genus Eucyclodes?

If I were in New Mexico I think that I would be looking closely at those skippers, and everything else. I drove through the northern part of NM a long time ago but didn't explore anything. I may have to move there pretty soon. The land I'm on now is being sold and I can't afford anything else here.

The similarities and differences of Silver-spotted and Huachuca skippers are very interesting. Before seeing your post I had never heard of Huachuca skippers, and I thought that I knew everything. Ha Ha.

I love pikas. They're fairly common in the Cascade Mountains of SW Washington.

Neither the priest's vicious actions nor the weak sentence surprises me. Priests are scum, and so are a lot of judges.

That is a useless demand. Miller is just one DHS monster.

Currently approved ICE and Border Patrol funding should be revoked and no future funding should take place.

Any democrat or republican who supports ICE and/or Border Patrol should be sent to Gitmo, permanently.
