EVs are lower impact shortly into their lifespan and my EV runs mostly off the solar I generate.
Though I didn't got with an EV to be green, I went with an EV because it was an objectively better experience for me.

My experience with owning a good EV has been I'll never go back to the terrible experience of owning & driving a gas car.
The instant response, amazing performance, & lack of engine noise makes driving an EV far more enjoyable.
Home charging, no oil changes, no brake pad wear make owning great.

Sorry to hear, here's a virtual hugπ«
May there be some good news soon.
Screenshot of abrp app showing a 623 mile road trip with 11 hr 4min total time, 10 hr 1 min drving and 3 charging stops for 52 mins of charging.
Two EV household here. Even with a moderate 240 mile range EV, a 600 mile roadtrip that I used to drive every couple years is just a little longer than it was in a gas car. The stops to charge are nice to stretch your legs and get a bio break in.
Or every pardon takes one month off their term.
Upgraded/replaced the wifi/bluetooth card in my laptop today. Put everything back together only to find the touch pad wasn't working. Opened it back up & checked & reseated the touchpad connection twice. Only to realize the ROG software had the touchpad disabled. π€¦
Sent $300 your way to help out.
a white plate of sautΓ©ed asparagus & mushrooms with shallots.
two costco mahi mahi fillets coated with lemon pepper and glistening from the butter they were fried in on a white plate.
A picture of my induction cooktop with the mahi mahi cooker in a pan on the left and the sautΓ©ed asparagus & mushrooms cooking in a pan on the right with a spatula resting in each pan. The blue leds under the cooktop simulate the look of gas flames.
To take my mind off "everything" I took some extra time to make a tasty dinner tonight. Some sautΓ©ed asparagus & mushrooms with shallots in olive oil and lemon pepper pan fried mahi mahi. 5 minutes to prep and 8 minutes to cook.
I rarely use public charging, and when I do, no app is usually required, just plug in and tap to pay. Example, Electrify America charging stations.
Compared to when I drove a gas car, I had to swipe my card about once a week at a gas station that had a high chance of having a card skimmer.
Guess so. π
Merci pour l'accueil.
It's the French part that has me curious.
This is cool. Though I have no idea why I'm in the "French Progressive Politics & Culture" (cloud?) section.

In Vancouver B.C. for some internal meetings all week and the interplay early morning fog, the sun and the various angles of the windows created some amazing patterns today.

Nice.
I love my Volvo c40 and xc40 recharge EVs, but the ex30 is just a cheap geely EV dressed like a Volvo. It's only interesting aspect was the acceleration. The new models don't change that.
WinKey+Left or right arrow will allow you to move an in focus window around to different positions across your various displays.
Example, the XC40 Recharge looks almost identical to the gas version. Its only obvious from the front with the blocked out grill.
I had to use checks for my solar install because my bank's online bill pay wouldn't send that much money and I wasn't going to pay the installers 4% credit card fee.
A picture of me smiling with bright red-orange short hair, wearing glasses, and a hoodie.
Twice a year we do an employee feedback survey and each time if my team reaches 100% participation, they get to choose my hair color. This time it's bright orange.

Our neighbor's car got hit by an amazon driver tonight. They didn't even bother to stop or leave a note. Just drove off like it's nothing.
Never got a clear image of their license plate unfortunately.
At least they were able to get me in first thing this morning and get the tires and wheels properly mounted. The person behind the counter seamed embarrassed that someone there made this kind of mistake.
Glad my car drives normally again and isn't trying to pull to the left when I stop.
Les Schwab fucked up. Saturday, I dropped my C40 off to have winter tires swapped. On the way home it felt a little off & the tire pressure light came on. I assumed they underfilled a tire or two. While checking the pressure, I found they installed the 2 wider rear tires on one side, π€¦ββοΈ.
Graph of the Snoqualmie river gauge near Carnation, showing the four days of readings and the forecast for the next 10 days overlayed on a color-coded flood stage chart. Current value is 47.54ft, minor flooding starts at 54ft and major flooding at 58ft. The forecasted peak is 58.45ft on Dec 9th.
Looks like I'll be working from home most of this week with at least one key road expected to close from flooding Tuesday through Friday.

Silver fractal terra case with the 5080s white LEDs glowing inside.
CPU installed in the motherboard and ready for thermal paste.
Pic of the front of the case highlighting the wood accent piece and the flat silver face. In the background all the parts and tools that will be used in the build
Cpu, power supply, gpu, ram, motherboard, cpu cooler, ssds, and a screwdriver ready for assembly.
With RAM prices being what they are I did a new/old mini-ITX build today.
My first Terra build turned well. Used some spare DDR4 & Storage I had laying around, paired with a cheap 5800XT+B550 combo.
Got lucky recently and snagged a 5080 founders at MSRP from bestbuy to pull it all together.

chart from PCPartPicker tracking memory prices for the last 18 months. Ine the last 3 months prices nearly quadrupled from around $100 to around $400 for 32GB of DDR5 6000 memory.
Damn, memory prices are insane right now. 4x increase in cost in the last few months thanks to high demand from build datacenters for AI.
Dang. I'm paying $2360/year to insure my 2 EVs, 2021 xc40 & a 2023 c40.
One thing I did was to increase my deductible to $2k, as I saved more in premiums after a couple years than I might pay on a claim.
Screenshot of an email that reads: Dear customer, Thanks for your ongoing participation in PSEβs Flex Batteries program. We appreciate your partnership in ensuring a reliable energy supply when there is high demand for electricity. You may have noticed that we accidentally underpaid your annual incentive. Not to worry - we are reviewing payment amounts this week. We will mail you a second check with the incentive youβre owed, along with an extra $50 to compensate you for the delay.
Got my check for $500 a couple weeks ago for being enrolled for a year. Today PSE let me know they under paid? me, and will be sending another check plus $50 to apologize. Anyone else have a utility company this nice?
