Chromatin binding and N-terminal domains of DNMT3B1 confer specificity for developmentally regulated CpG island methylation A biweekly scientific journal publishing high-quality research in molecular biology and genetics, cancer biology, biochemistry, and related fields

Are you a DNMT3 enthusiast wondering how they achieve specificity at CpG islands during development? And why is DNMT3B specifically required for methylation on the inactive X?

We set out to dissect the mechanism, now published in Genes & Development

Uniform dynamics of cohesin-mediated loop extrusion in living human cells - Nature Genetics Live-cell fluorescence microscopy and polymer simulations in human HCT116 cells show similar cohesin density, residence times and extrusion speed across multiple genomic regions.

Great collaboration with the lab of Edouard Bertrand, with important contributions from Benoรฎt Lelandais, Marie-Cรฉcile Robert, Michael Szalay, and Jean-Yves Tinevez. Thanks a lot to all.

Excited to share our labโ€™s latest preprint! We identify DDIAS as a novel single-stranded DNA-binding component of the TOPBP1โ€“CIP2A complex, which acts in a mitotic DNA damage response pathway to protect chromosome integrity. It is not always safe to repair DNA Damage. Sometimes, cells "just bypass it".

During DNA replication, repair of lesions on DNA can be dangerous. Cells instead "tolerate" DNA damage and focus on finishing replication.
