This is horrific from The White House. They are so unhinged it’s beyond belief. I hope Nintendo sues the living hell out of them.

Oh this is delightful! To hear of kids going to school on International Women’s Day dressed as Hannah Spencer! 🥹🥹🥹

If you missed it, you must watch Hannah’s maiden speech. Just wonderful! ❤️

I need petrol for a lengthy journey next week. Do I buy now? Later? I don’t want to be a panic buyer but starting to feel like I should probably fill up sooner rather than later. What’s it like out there? (I don’t drive a lot these days)

So to summarise: You failed to take out the regime. You failed to destroy nuclear material. You failed to eradicate Iran's retaliatory capacity. You brought chaos to the Middle East. You killed god knows how many people. You destabilised your own economy. All for nothing, but the ego of madman.

I should also mention, given how disappointed I've been in this government, that this is probably the most important issue facing us today and it is the one area where the government's performance has been very impressive. Thank fuck for Ed Miliband.

It is extremely difficult to construct a practical case against this position. Net Zero is now as much about patriotism as it is about climate change.

Dear everyone,

As per the post from the Bodleian librarian below, AI bots and scrapers are putting just about every website under great pressure, British History Online included.

A lot of excellent tech staff are working hard to keep everything working, but outages and siruptions are inevitable.

New Origin Story, on an absolute unqualified piece of Nazi shit, who is as close to the brains of the Trump operation as it gets.

I know it won't make any difference to his voters, who pay no attention to what's actually going on, and think foresight is for pussies and consequences can be wished away.

But if Farage was PM, we'd now be in a moronic, illegal war he demanded we join 2 days ago, and now thinks is a disaster.

It’s lovely to hear that not all my parents generation have that view and I totally sympathise with you too! It really is mind boggling that despite the evidence to the contrary, the Royals are still Teflon to many!

And yes, apparently being a Republic means Farage or Trump. 🤷 It’s exhausting. 🤯

note that it's the right-wing parties, who have complained that UK should have joined US strikes on Iran, who are now also demanding the Labour government steps up household help with energy bills

I have very heated arguments with my folks over the Royals. They are ‘that’ generation who only have rose tinted glasses for them. 😒 I’m going to send them this in the hope to keep chipping away at their admiration of them. Honestly it’s maddening. 🤯

The Broligarchy's First World War? AI-guided weapons, two out-of-control authoritarians, no legal authority and a toxic mess of masculinity: welcome to the manosphere's first major conflict

NEW: Is this the broligarchy’s first world war? AI, like war & rape, is a hyper-masculine fantasy of God-like power, a myth at the dark heart of what we’re seeing play out in the Gulf. This war hasn’t replaced the Epstein scandal. It is the Epstein scandal.

“Chatbot systems that entered public life writing emails, summarising documents and telling you what to have for dinner now help determine who lives and who dies.”

Another powerful piece on what this war is really about by Carole.

And yes, Tony Blair can royally fuck off. Keep the UK out of this!

Crude oil prices, showing a very sharp increase in the last day, from around 65 to 101 dollars per barrel..

Oil prices wouldn't be all over the news today if more of our economy was powered by local, secure renewable energy.

This isn't an "energy crisis". It's a fossil fuel crisis.

44% of UK electricity came from renewables in 2025. More of that plus an electrified economy => no more oil shocks.

It really is something to see politicians, commentators and media outlets whose whole identity is based on being so-called ‘patriots’ frothing with excitement as they line up to back a deranged megalomaniac who consistently attempts to belittle and bully the country they claim to love

When Brexit was slammed for being an act of pure prejudice, all the Brexiters howled about ‘sovereignty’ and ‘taking back control’.
Now, the very same people howl that we should just obey Trump and put our country in the firing line.
They lied about everything. All of it. Every single part.

Only discovered ballet a couple of years ago and I love it now. Gone the Matthew Bourne route (modernised versions) but absolutely adore it. I’m sure Opera is not far away in catching my eye, or ear I should say. 😄
