That’s a lame excuse and attitudes like that are why the sport has been stuck in the past.
It was a national championship and we should expect better of organizers. Thankfully, they owned up to it and didn’t blame the athletes. ATC will do better.
Common sense says the race should have been declared over when the leaders were lead off astray by vehicles on course.
This weekend was a perfect storm.
Not just announcers, but other behind the scenes staff hopping around making things happen.
Maybe one day we'll have better coordination between the different levels of the sport. Bare minimum, collegiate conf & USA Champs shouldn't be on the same weekend.
