I wonder if Meralco meter readers work on holy week. Our next electric meter reading is on Friday and can’t contain my excitement in seeing our first ever zero export, zero bill this month. (Yes, I know I’m risking jinxing it)

Under the hood, before the frunk accessory
Under the hood, with the frunk (fit and testing)
Found an aftermarket frunk part online and couldn't resist getting it. It needed a minor modification to fit but all the holes for mounting were right where they needed to be. Here are pictures of before and after.
I've noticed that frunks (front trunks) have been only present on flagship EV car models. The Dongfeng Nammi Box has plenty of space under the hood. As an entry-level EV, I feel that the frunk was intentionally left out too.

Season’s greetings! 🧂
I read a lot of opinions that Duolingo is ineffective. They may be right but for me, I feel my French vocabulary and reading has improved. The gamification is enough to compel me to practice for 20 mins every day. Writing, speaking and listening continues to be a work in progress.
I would like to support indie studios but most of the titles I received weren’t my kind of games. It would be more effective if I sent donations directly to local non-profits working on climate like Climate Reality PH.
Cancelled my Humble Bundle classic subscription after skipping for 6 months. The largest contribution of $4.20 went to Zero Emissions Byron.
We’re Airbnb hosts on break and part of the local hosting community. I booked a trip for next week with our EV and negotiated a charging arrangement with the host.
Today, another Airbnb host asked a question how to handle such inquiry. Offered to help by chat and phone. Hope she reaches out.
Rack mounted batteries that have LED indicators and cables that link each battery with one unit connected to cables coming from the wall.
Upgraded our home solar energy storage from 16 kWh to 21 kWh. The DC circuit breaker was also replaced with a MCCB which is safer when the battery is discharging.
Getting additional solar modules of 1.65 kWp and EV wall charger installed next week.
Hollering out to the Pylontech gang! 👋
Happy Monday! It has been a week since I last used a public EV charging station. Juiced up solely on off-grid #solar that also powered our entire home. No fossil fuel burned.
With the right policy and support, I believe anyone can do it. Lots of potential energy in sunny Philippines 🇵🇭 waiting!
Second time a gravedigger in a month. Another kitten dead from the rescued litter. I fear they may all be sick. 😿
Is the Filipino still worth dying for?
I thought we would need to switch to hybrid mode. Maintained being off the grid for another night - using only 4 KWh.
Morning sunlight is clearing whatever clouds are left through the horizon. Charging today started at 7 am.

The rain poured in yesterday making it really dark late in the afternoon. Only made it to 60% charge by sunset. Everything was cooled down around us, shedding load down to around 600 W.
Electric Classic MINI
EV converted 2022 Hyundai Elantra (4-door coupé MT)
Went to an EV meet up last weekend. Car dealerships had their new models on display but what caught my attention the most were the two conversions that drove in: A 2022 Hyundai Elantra and a Classic MINI.
Very inspiring to convert our Toyota!

With the wrath of El Niño lingering on, I hope that everyone is able to manage the heat and related expenses. It’s never too late to give solar rooftop (or portable) a try, or even explore other ways we can reduce our impact.
On top of our impact reductions, we get to shield against fossil fuel price increases that the country has no stable sources of or no influence on (e.g. geopolitical conflicts). Power interruptions have often gone unnoticed since we’ve been off grid for most days since February.
The Philippines continues to rely heavily on non-renewable fuels at 67% of the mix. With coal as the majority while fossil gas is on the rise, believed by policy makers as a “transition” feedstock.
Photo of an electric bill with 52 kWh of consumption
My #earthday tribute post is an updated electric bill where we avoided adding more heat-trapping gases to our atmosphere. With our rooftop solar panels and batteries, we consumed 95% less energy from the grid compared to our 2022 usage.
Only in Metro Manila. 🤮
The one I saw included LTO registration and if I’m not mistaken it’s classified L3 which can go over 50km/h and not included in the ban.
Really keen on getting an electric scooter as our first EV. A small Chinese brand had their entire line on display at the shopping mall next door. With a 20Ah 60V battery and rated 75km range, it would cost around ₱0.18 ($0.003) per kilometer for a full charge from the grid.
Electric utility bill showing 5 kWh of consumption
Hopefully zero imports next month!

Face palm moment. Question asked in a car group on Facebook: OP wants to know if the catalytic converter should be removed to install an aftermarket exhaust "muffler". 🤦
Hello, world!
