African Women do not need climate loans, they need grants to realize gender responsive climate action.

โBy 2050 1.3bn Africans will live in areas where, due to climate change, the disease will be harder to eradicate than it is today, predicts the Malaria Atlas Project (MAP), an NGO.โ
โAnti-colonial feminist organising and world-building bring to the fore the interrogation of the continued impact of colonialism, slavery and capitalism on Africa and Africans in present times despite living in what has come to be accepted as the post-colonial eraโ.

UN plastic pollution talks must result in ambitious treaty, leading expert says
Letโs fight for a climate future where everybody has control over their body, identity, and choices.
Because justice begins with autonomy. ๐

๐ Whether itโs extreme weather, food insecurity, or displacement, people thrive when they have the rights, resources, and recognition to act as full members of their communities.
When we talk about climate justice, we must also talk about bodily autonomy.
Because the ability to make free, informed, and dignified choices about our bodies, from accessing healthcare and contraception to expressing our sexuality, is a foundation for resilience in the face of climate shocks.
Letโs reject population control narratives and instead fight for a world where people have full control over their bodies and lives and where the climate crisis is tackled by holding extractive, exploitative systems accountable.
โ๐พ Justice for people. Justice for the planet.
#ClimateJustice
People have the right to access contraception, abortion, and comprehensive reproductive care because it is their right, not because it serves someone elseโs climate agenda.
Climate justice must never come at the expense of bodily autonomy or reproductive justice.
โ
The truth is:
SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) is about dignity, autonomy, and justice. It must be approached through a human-rights, feminist, and anti-colonial lens.
๐ฎIgnores the real culprits: unsustainable capitalist systems, fossil fuel corporations, militarism, and overconsumption by the wealthiest nations and elites.
๐ธPlaces the blame for the climate crisis on the bodies of those who can become pregnant, especially poor, Black, Indigenous, and racialised communities.
๐ฅ But here's the truth:
๐ซ This narrative is harmful because it:
๐ธInstrumentalises contraceptives not as tools for choice, but as tools for control.
The population narrative falsely argues that the climate crisis is primarily driven by population growth, especially in the Global South, & implies that controlling the number of people (often through contraception) is a solution to climate change.
We unpacked how the climate crisis intersects with our bodies, identities and rights; from disrupted access to healthcare, to the violence of invisibility in disaster response. We held space for truth, for learning and for radical dreaming!

๐ There's no climate action without funding, especially for #LossAndDamage, & without #GenderJustice.
The EU must act now: funding real solutions, prioritizing affected communities, & empowering women on the frontlines.
