Indeed. Thatβs the annoying thing about common names, they donβt necessarily have just one.
The gilled bottoms of some fuzzy white mushrooms on a stick. On one fungus are two mites, one seemingly immature. Top left on the stick is another adult moss mite.
These guys are not spiders but fungi-eating moss mites (Damaeidae undet.) on slipper fungi (Crepidotus undet.)

It looks so space efficient
Interesting, very cool to see! I find it hard in this photo to see where one species ends and another begins (probably because of unfamiliarity).
It was a mistake to leave me unsupervised.
Beefly?
Geweldig! :D
Like a pedal bin haha
This stunning Beetle flew in right in front of us in the car park at RSPB Ham Wall last week. Itβs the Sexton Beetle Nicrophorus investigator & what a beauty it is! Note the tiny mite under its chin(?) in the RH pic! #InsectThursday #Beetles @rspb.bsky.social
Clutches of pear shaped light blue spore heads dangling on yellow stalks. They have a glittering, iridescent sheath and on the ones that are opened, black spores are visible inside.
Blue and shiny iridescent slime mold fruiting bodies.

Mooi! De ondergrond van bladeren en andere boomdingetjes komt ook heel goed uit, dat is niet makkelijk.
Ha the caterpillar with the monocle :D
So soft and nice smelling
Different mosses and some small plant with round leaves.
Moss and other small plants.

A rock with some parts chipped off, showing colors from light grey to various shades of orange and brown.
Chipped rock in ferrous soil.
Black silhouettes of trees and a log cabin against a night sky full of stars.
Mountain cabin under the stars.
Yeah itβs visible, bsky is just having some issues today.
Close up photo of a group of Cladonia podetia. Each podetium is light grey in colour and shaped roughly like a golf tee. The top/bowl of each podetium is ringed with numerous small, roundish bright red blobs. These blobs are called apothecia - they are reproductive, spore producing structures.
Cladonia lichens. NWT, Canada.

Gorgeous!

If I spend a day driving, I expect to be at least two countries over. Thatβs how it should be. Give you some sense of progression.
Is that a pizza cutter for fabric?
Iβm less annoyed about driving there because itβs mostly not highways and thereβs more to see from the road :)
Thanks! My pet slime is still going strong, 2+ months in captivity now.
They should make Germany smaller. Itβs unreasonable that you can drive for 8 hours and still be in the same country.

Cool! Yeah it does that pulsating thing, I should try to make a time lapse.
Ah! I had not heard this term in relation to slime molds. Interesting. This one is a Fuligo septica, Iβm not sure if the macro form of this one is also considered a grex or if that is more typical of dictyostelids. Learned a new word today!
