Blue sky isn't very active. Guess many have finished there rant and gone back to Facebook...
I'm keeping BS as a breadth of fresh air for me.
Adventured out to Pisgah Crater and swung by the Bagdad Cafe a few days ago.

Have to keep working on the community! Thanks Bruce.
For three letters it is a big word. But so is God... For me as an artist, it is a verb, a process of creating. Whatever comes out of it is up to others to call it what they wish.
Sharpening the rust off my blades to get this project done! Honoring the man in the Raven Clan!! Some beautiful women too!!
Haines Alaska last summer.
The issue with the Woodworm was it sat on the concrete floor and was dry rotting as were the posts. Basically a concrete bunker... My dad took the B&W pic's when they opened up 7 of the houses for a variety of museum folks in 1968. He took some great photos.
Love those old photos. My carving buddy Cliff Thomas was Ganaxtedi and said the large face is still somewhere in Klukwan. Love to see that show up. It isn't a mask, it is solid. Here are some other shots you have probably seen.
This looks like my photo enlarged. Sadly the woodworm dish was in bad shape and not brought to the new location when the posts and screen were removed. They should have brought the fragments over... Love these works and the family that has been the "caretakers". Son Shion communicating!
That is an amazing pic! Those posts were stored in the Whale House for a while. I was asked to photograph the Whale House in 81 when Victor Hotch passed. Berry took those pics without permission and signed his name to them... Bad Karma...
Got my suit! Full swing in 07!
So cool in California!
The "Woodworm", Klukwan. Took this photo in 1981.
My brother in Haines, AK is always cutting down nice size birch and gives it to the local carvers. It's heavy when wet so would be quite a mailing cost! When I taught wood carving at the Academy of Art in SF we went to a tree cutting yard in Oakland and had quite a variety of wood for carvers...?
Have to get the rust off those blades!
Nice ship builders adze. Good toe chopper! My Japanese chona is magic. Works like the elbow adze except grown to the curve. So cool you got to spend time with Bill Holm!
Hard on the wrist! But nice tool. Leif spring steel. Elbow adze is the answer!
There it is!
Wouldn't let me send a pic... Weak connection..
Just scanned a D adze I made in the 70's. Traded it to somebody..!
"The Activists" 1989.
Time to reactivate activism!
Thanks Bill. Neon/Raku Solstice party on June 21st!
What is going on with the side tubulation..?
Nice wood work as well!
Love this krypton crackle tube with Japanese glass chips lighting our kokeshi. Keep the light!
More Thunderbird!
Be nice for a upper face in a tinnah.
Good old Earth gave us some much needed rain!
Happy Birthday Mr. Lincoln! Hero since age of 8.
Whats the deal with blue sky..? It only allows me a certain amounts of words and up to 4 photo's?? Love my Robert E Wood painting of Deep Creek. Bob was a great person.
Looks like many of my friends who have activated a blue sky due to frustration with facebook are still active on facebook and not posting here on blue sky... Or maybe I am not getting the feeds..? We are pretty much preaching to the choir anyhow so I will keep posting to myself! Cheers!!
