That fact that so many professors begin their professorship on campus *immediately following completion of their degree* should be more concerning to more people.
The lack of practical off-campus employment experience by professors in any/all fields is a stain on big academia.
It's not that it gets bad as they get older; it is just that as they grow and become independent, I look back on those early years with fondness; it was chaotic and crazy and all that, but it was also magical in a completely unique, unparalleled way.
Hot take: I'd kill to get those years back.

Mid-exam, students should be handed a *hardcopy* that has inked edits and margin notes in illegible handwriting, some of which appear to have been emphatically underlined multiple times for importance, but remain illegible.
This is wild. The way it distills it down with casual statements like "the protection could change if the kids left their bikes out that day . . . ." is so . . . podcasty. Fascinating.
