Röyksopp, but what if heavy?
I play a lot of DS and I run DH. They both emulate heroics, but in satisfyingly different ways. I've ended up liking DH more than I thought I would. Some of the simplicity in the design on the GM side makes it joy to run after running 5e for 7 years. I do miss the combat from DS, though

Ah. I think I see where we diverge. If I were the designer, I'd see cracks in where the game doesn't deliver as well as I imagine it should, and start to mend the cracks. It'd start with a rules tweak or two, and all of sudden I'd be working on the Revised edition.

I think we agree on this. I'm starting to suspect I'm burdening your words with bad faith.
I read "commit to discouraging... etc", as telling players "you must not change any of the rules, and you shouldn't play if you feel you have to."

But I'm not going to police people's houserules. I won't hold others to a standard I won't follow myself.
