I've worked in mental health for a very long time, and no matter what population is being served, a universal truth is always made clear:
No amount of therapy or medication can rival the effects that POVERTY has on a person's overall well-being.
Any deficit in the bottom 2 is especially damaging.

Today, I learned that one of my aunts used to be a racing whiz in her local track circles. I knew there was some reason why I understood cars a little better when the topic came up with her.
Vaccines don’t cause autism but vaccine hesitancy because of ableist beliefs do cause late diagnosis of autism and more time for children to not have adequate support, as was my case in schools.
Being autistic is awesome.

Today's indie game: Loco Motive (locomotivegame.com). A LucasArts-style graphic adventure (quite a few of those this year in IGF!) where you have to exonerate yourself as a murder suspect. The writing legit had me laughing out loud. Not super innovative, but top-level craft within the form.

Love it when I'm having to correct transportation services that ADHD is a disability that impacts memory after they ask for specifics on if it is or not so I can pick up my meds for it (that they aren't allowed to deliver. /sarcasm 🙄😒
