The Senate is considering the nomination of Emil Bove to a lifetime seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals —and it’s one of the most alarming nominations we’ve seen. Bove helped carry out some of the administration’s most dangerous attacks on the rule of law:
Even if certain politicians try to make us doubt it, We Americans are stronger together. We care for each other. We need radical, un-apologetic empathy from you and from each other right now. This is still a democracy, and We the people have always had the true power here.
I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
Lastly, the One Big Beautiful Bill increases the federal debt ceiling by $5 TRILLION.
But we’ll be saving:
- $930 bil by cutting off Medicaid access to the disabled, elderly, or the underserved
- $170 bil by cutting Medicare and the Affordable Care Act
- $285 bil by cutting SNAP benefits, and
-$52 bil by defunding Planned Parenthood
Expenses from the One Big Beautiful Bill (Senate Version):
- $153 billion to military funding, including building the “Golden Dome”
- Around $150 billion to immigration enforcement
- $25 million more to the $500 million for AI deployment
- over $10 billion for Space Program Funding
OBBB increases the Federal Deficit by $3.8 trillion.
The “Big Beautiful Bill” now goes back to the House to be passed. ICE is running out of funding. Trump desperate to pass this quickly. If this does not get passed as written, it will go to Conference Committee. Now is the time to apply pressure to our US Representatives.
