I loved the music and the djs (listening to Trevor Nelson on radio 2 right now) but the baby tone of the news on 1 is just so irritating

If this is pitched at a reading age of 10, then BBC Radio 1 news is pitched at infants learning to talk. I used to change station in school when it came on it annoyed me so much

Unless Ai can do nursing, hire staff, roll back on privatisation-cutting out middle men, adequately support home carers, build infrastructure and get back the billions overspent on the children's hospital, t'isn't the golden goose this Disney villain thinks it is.

The HSE is still not on a unified digitised healthcare record system. This is like entering a toddler into the Olympic 100m sprint that may or may not be 100m anyway

In 1926, as a member of the Irish Senate, W.B. Yeats enthusiastically took charge of the committee designing new coinage for the Irish Free State. Yeats decided the different denominations should be symbolised by different animals (was he consciously thinking of this as the “tails” side?) 1/2

I got it into my head in the 90s during his years long run on Top 30 hits, that David Gray was from Dundalk. Possibly because it was at the same time as the Corrs were popular. When my brother tried to argue - my only argument was to gesture at the TV and say “come on, he’s pure Dundalk looking”

Yes loved the 20p and loved the size of the punt. Felt so huge when I was wee

The coolest coinage ever minted heavily featured animals and was very patriotic imo. Also; nothing is ever going to come out about any given animal alive or dead that makes them problematic

Huge releases of files - Epstein and now Mandelsons appointment. My old firm has diverted all discovery review work to LLMs. The review and summaries previously done by juniors now go straight to senior associates. AI definitely could help with this work, but now trainees loose so much training

Bringing this case was so so so stupid and maddening when you know of so many other incidents that the authorities have no interest in prosecuting

Fair play, 'the mad emperor started compulsively buying shoes for his court, guessing their foot size & his courtiers were too scared not to wear them even when they didn't fit' is some classic, on the nose End Days Of The Empire stuff

Can anyone explain to me what the Blue Labour justification for this is? Who out there will vote Labour because Mahmood prevented a Sudanese Chevening Scholar? And to be honest, why won’t the PM simply overrule her?

Most don’t care about the actual humanity of people here - we exist to make points at elections, to cosplay conflict when the notion takes or make edgy memes for likes on social media. There’s fk all funny or cute about him

The way she relishes it. She’s buzzing at the thought of others poverty. The people in her own former constituency are especially prone to fuel poverty and because of this war, this morning we heard a group who represents them say their oil prices have doubled overnight.
She doesn’t give a fk

Fuck the poor, I'm in the House of Lords.

Who could have forecast the woman who cost NI £196m on RHI would also back Brexit which costs the UK the same as the entire UK defence bill every year?

I've said this many times before but she does this to constituents too, simply denies having said or written things despite there being proof she said or wrote it. Just an extremely odd person.

Badenoch denies calling for UK to join US-Israeli war on Iran Conservative leader accused of taking confusing position after she said Starmer should ‘do more than catch arrows’

At the most basic level of 'have some self-respect', Conservative MPs should not put forward someone who visibly is not intellectually equipped to be prime minister as their candidate to be prime minister.

Remember when Edwin Poots just openly admitted on Twitter that the Tory government offered the DUP MPs bribes for votes in the form of of peerages and basically nobody actually reacted to it at all despite it being an open confirmation of corruption in Westminster from a high profile elected rep
