We're enjoying Young Sherlock as a Victorian romp, but their need to shoe-horn in all the characters. "Oh, so you met Lestrade when you were at university? That's odd, since A Study in Scarlet is *very* clear that they've never met before."
A "have a question" screen with Linux filesystem errors.
Someone needs to fix that EXT4 filesystem. #Linux
Sorry!
There's an easy solution to the Strait of Hormuz problem: invent a time machine, go back a few hundred million years and persuade the dinosaurs to die further south.
This is just like when the UK got Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks to train elite police officers in the 1980s.
Tales of the Suburbs: LGBTQ+ Lives Behind Net Curtains by John Grindrod
A very happy publication day to @grindrod.bsky.social and a revelatory book about extraordinary people in ordinary places. I think it's his best yet.
Which facts do they want to find?
As a pedestrian for over half the century, I have *never* had a close pass by a cyclist doing 20mph. I have a handful of times had a cyclist doing 10-15mph zip past me, far fewer than the times a car driver has put my life in danger.
And Alice is doing the same while she gets banged. #TheArchers
As Project 2026 crashes and burns hotter than an Iranian drone, lots of people on the right will look for excuses.
"We didn't go in hard enough"
"It wasn't fast enough"
"Maybe we should try again, but without a moron in charge."
They will be wrong.
I wouldn't call right to buy a privatisation. It was a bad policy, but nothing to do with privatisation of nationalised industries.
Jesus was dead at 33.
Iβm 52, been with my wife for 31 years. Like water sports, hiking, climbing. Was once a councillor where i started swimming lessons for disadvantaged kids and saved a womenβs centre from closure.
I just want a quiet life but Iβm trans so Labour donβt think I should exist any more. I fled the UK.

Oops! A near miss, but could easily have been much worse. Humans don't always beat the automated systems.
The removal of the remaining hereditary peers is a long-overdue reform. Yet, progress must not stall here, and the government now needs to move onto reforming the Lords into a smaller, democratic chamber, with members chosen by and accountable to the people of this country.

There's still a chance!
Great use for hydrogen to decarbonise a heavy industrial process.

There may be a good reason no-one in the UK has ever done this before.

I don't think it's arguable - housing associations are public bodies so it wasn't privatisation.
There are issues with both, but our failure to build the things mentioned has little to do with privatisation.
Privatisation has almost nothing to do with this: all of these have been achieved in both the UK and worldwide under both private and public ownership. They have failed under both too.

We should transition away from gas as quickly as we can, but that's at least a decade and almost certainly more so we also need to protect people during that transition period.
The Β£8000 for my fairly normal semi was after the grant. We need to come off gas by 2050 to achieve the legal net zero targets, but saying that doesn't give people the money do to it. There's nothing idiotic about stopping people from freezing in their homes.
