I don't see that our points are that divergent. When you say you make your final decisions based on reviews, I agree, it's what I meant to say as well. Like when you ask a waiter for recommendations in a restaurant you don't know but don't have them choose what you eat.
Ok fair, let me rephrase what I meant. I also like to bounce ideas off it and get some perspectives I wouldn't reach on my own, but I don't let it take creative decisions. I do sometimes also let it take some technical decisions in areas that either I am not so good at or aren't too critical to me.
I get using them to make some of the more laborious aspects easier, but we shouldn't outsource the thinking to them, right? Right?

on some level i get why people hate AI, esp. non-programmers. where everyone else feels subject to whatever nonsense googmetasoft does, programming is where it's the clearest how much it's changed, the potential, and where people are in the position to build affordances that bring out that potential
