5 relative abundance plots arranged to have increasing compositional variability (variability across relative abundance samples, here vertical bars)
1/ Hey y'all, I'm excited to share my latest paper, which is out now in PNAS! We introduce FAVA, a statistical framework to measure compositional variability across microbiome samples. If you want to measure variability across a stacked bar plot, FAVA is for you! Paper: doi.org/10.1073/pnas...
Iβm excited to hear new MPMI science in Cologne.
Preprint alert: Here we report MMF1 - "a microbiota receptorβ - through which Arabidopsis plants perceive their soil microbiome. Perception optimises root microbiome composition, immune status and ultimately leads to better growth.
Happy reading...

Check out our new study! We show that Arabidopsis uses the EDS1-SAG101-NRG1 node to trigger rapid yet contained cell death. Key finding: NRG1C variant regulates this process by competing with functional NRG1s. Amazing collaboration between Jijie Chai and Parker Labs.
