Don't blink.
Don't blink.
Welcome pard!
To me do run rye, faddle diddle dye, whack faddle diddle to me do run rye...
(Best done as a 4 part round, as we do in Falmouth Shout π)
There's the giant's heart set into the pathway, which we tell kids you can feel if you put your foot on it and your hand on your chest. Maybe it's real...
That and the fact that your escape is cut off for 6 hours out of every 12...
In my mind, forever "Twitter (RIP)". Like Marathons.
Wind is Southerly, it's them bleddy Frenchies sending it to both of us!
Ah, of course, these numbers are percentage of Website traffic generated by social media, so sum to 100%.
I guess in lockdown people were more active on instant-response sites like Twitter and Instagram, clicking through to news / government sites?, and that ate FB's lunch for a while.
Ah, that site measures traffic to websites from Twitter, not accounts:

So as it is mostly now rats in a bag fighting each other, maybe it doesn't generate that much external traffic any more.
Zooming out is interesting, particularly around lockdown!
Interesting discrepancy between that 24m and Tom's 10% - I wonder if there are a lot of dead / duplicate / bot accounts?
7 of those accounts were various business and hobby accounts of mine. All except my primary account (which is in protest mode) have been deactivated this week.
Elements of it, yes, but I was getting more Suffolk!
I've been mulling this over too, and I take @georgemonbiot.bsky.social's point that we shouldn't let the far right drive us out of any space.
But X is not a neutral space. Staying on there, either as eyeballs or contributor, directly generates income for Musk. That was the decider for me.
She snared him.
Never lose your sense of wonder at your own biology, let alone π¦!

Beautiful crow against a black background
It seems to me that the time is ripe for a Bluesky thread about howβand maybe even whyβto befriend crows.

Please tell me there was actually a gran carrying that sign π
Exactly, same here. Followed and looking forward to it.
Civil war latest in Blackpool. These men have occupied a roundabout.
Oh, the site itself is superb, can't fault it (*) - it's the network effect that's needed to make it successful. That is in our hands, so me too!
(* well, a time-limited edit button would be nice π)
I feel like Bluesky is the team of normal people taking to the streets the morning after the looting and bin shoving to just sweep up and make eye contact with each other
Painting of a man standing on a mountain looking out over foggy valleys. Wanderer above the Sea of Fog by Caspar David Friedrich
On joining a new social site, escaping the rats-in-a-bag 24th-letter hellhole. A sense of space and purpose, tempered by an initial worry that it might be a little bit *too* empty, and those mountains look quite steep...
