Someone thought the Bugs Bunny short "Rebel Rabbit" was a documentary.
I mean if you trade for him and he puts up an elite season, even one, that trade paid off, especially if he adds on a playoff like 2024.
I havenβt forgotten the Epstein Files and the reality the current usurper in the White House raped children and laundered money, resulting in being blackmailed by multiple foreign governments to do their bidding.
I hope you donβt forget it, either.
I honestly don't know. Laffy's deal seems ridiculous, but one elite season makes it a bargain.
I certainly wouldn't attach anything to get out of Laffy's contract, because he's already a middle six forward and in two years his deal is going to look like Andrew Copp's.
It would be hilarious (to me at least) if part of the return, to balance the salaries, is Andrew Copp.
There's no market for Laffy that makes sense. You're not getting what you would get for a middle-sixer with term, so you either keep Laffy or move him in a challenge trade for someone like Shane Wright or Simon Nemec.
I don't think Fox knows what he wants, other than for the season to be over.
And yes, I know that's true of trading for any college player, but I'd rather have the extra year/years of control than hoping the centerpiece of my trades isn't fickle enough to leave me holding the bag before next season starts.
The concern, from my perspective, is that the GM can be as competent as he wants, but the player can't sign until after his college season is over, which in Stramel's case might not be for a few weeks, which is plenty of time for the player to change his mind.
Unless I'm very much mistaken, Stramel becomes a UFA on July 1, so he can choose not to sign and walk right back to Minnesota if he wants.
Learning important lessons about what a hypocrite I've been my whole life. Opposed to the death penalty. Think public executions are disgusting.
If it happens, I will watch this guy's execution live and record it, so I can watch it over and over to cheer myself up on bad days.
Tulsi's the best example of the general Berner to Trump pipeline that I've observed in some of my stupider acquaintances.
Just in case anyone was wondering why Leo accepted Cardinal Camerahound's ceremonial resignation in record time.
Can we send Thomas Friedman to Iran with a helmet and an empty service revolver? *Please?*
The thing about the U.S. and Israel is that both of their leaders are trying to stay out of prison.
The people outside of a country that they left for whatever reasons should not be listened to over the people who still live in said country. *Exile* politics is always fraught. Exiles have self-interests like everyone else.
Thank you for expressing so succinctly my feelings on his passing.
I've never worked with a billionaire, but I've worked with high end professionals, and my experience is that they focus on their expertise to the exclusion of all else. I'm sure Gates went into software as a well-rounded person. I just don't think he is now.
You're right that he's not stupid.
I'd be willing to bet that Bill Gates knows outdated software, predatory acquisition, and not much else.
Cut me some slack. It's been a long week.
I've said it before, but the difference between Sheary and the usual run of veteran corpses the Rangers like to run out is that he actually doesn't make the kinds of mistakes that would get a rookie benched. He actually plays like he knows what he's doing. Vesey 2.0 was the same way.
I'd prefer they give him simple goals with clear instructions, so he can hear some "attaboy, you won your shifts!" If he's playing Matt Rempe minutes, he's not going to meet any goals, and that would stink.
As you said, though, none of this really matters until after the deadline.

Frankly, I don't have a pet with Othmann on the 4th line as long as they put the right expectations on him. Tell him he's going to play more than 10 minutes a game and that his line's job is to win those minutes--spend more time in the O-Zone than the D-Zone. If he scores, yay, but just play well.
In my head canon it's JT Miller, because even though he plays for my team, he's awful.
Possibly the most understated yet deeply fucked thing about Trump II is that Bill Fucking Kristol is now occasionally right about things.
Haven't followed Stramel since the draft but I was very happy the Rangers didn't draft him.
The thing with Sheary is that unlike most of the guys we've been told this about over the years, he actually DOES do the little things well. Gives a lot of the same vibes as Jesper Fast, but more physical and with atrocious puck luck.
You know, Steve Owen and Jim Lee Howell are only somewhat dead.
