"There is a sort of elation about sunlight on the upper part of a house". – Edward Hopper
And I totally agree.

—We didn't order these.
—Yes you did. It's right here on the delivery ticket. Three harps for Hades.
—No, that says Heaven. Wrong afterlife.
—But I just finished that delivery.
Left it with St Peter at the gate...Oh, shit! That means there are three harpies running loose up there.

All flawless things are alike.
Imperfections make us unique.
So when I say I love you,
it’s not in spite of
but precisely because of
what makes you *you*
Removed the substack post for now. I’ll take your word for it for now and do a bit of research.
for those of u who dont know this is what being spiritually a selkie is like
Oh wow! I’ll have to check.
I have chosen substack as my main platform and bsky as a discovery platform.
The only drawback of bsky, really that prevents me from posting because my poems are long.
Thanks Lawrence. I remember you from twitter but I have stopped going there, maybe once a week. Decided to post on substack and bsky. Have you tried substack?
Long time no see. Still a character limit on this app? How can we post longer content?
Yeah that’s an option. But sometimes the platform crops the image and the whole thing isn’t visible. And people scroll on without clicking on the image. The ideal is when the entire screen length is available: text or image.
The Caveman’s Lament me think about her when sun rises me think about her when sun sets me say to her how much me love her she tell me love invent not yet me make cave all warm and cosy me lie bearskin on cave floor me play song of love on bone flute she choose cave of Tim next door me no more go out hunt mammoth me throw spear too short or long me sit in cave me paint her picture she say me got perspective wrong me cook meal to show me love her — diplodocus with fried beans — she say food anachronistic me not know what this means stone age mighty hard for lovers yet rub two flints look what you get small sparks lead to big inferno but she say love invent not yet homo unrequitus
Today’s poem is considered to be the world’s oldest surviving love poem, written 1.5 million years ago by one of our earliest ancestors, homo unrequitus. It’s called ‘The Caveman’s Lament’.
Wow! That’s beautiful and inspiring.
Such is the sun & moon tethered
My light my dark tethers to you
I didn’t know this way
Till the stars fell
Head first
Finding
Binding
Me
To
You
In a magical eclipse I was #home
Transformed from something
Fashioned by
The unknown side
Of the moon

With a character limit of 300, I can’t post longer poems. Bummer.
I’ve been the #rain thrashing earth
in search of winding rivers to soften my fall,
carried to banks where lovers trace dreams on the wind
I have known rain
I have known life
I once waited for sun—
Now I search the sky for storms,
for the glimmer of soft edges,
mimicking stars

Hi, BlueSky! I’m a Twitter escapee on the hunt for #vss365 and #WritingCommunity friends. I’m querying my first novel & write #poetry + flash fiction.
It’s bittersweet leaving a place I once treasured, but excited to start over where the skies are much bluer. Let’s connect!

a poet can possess
is never saying more than what you mean
and never less.

Thanks! I’ll give it a try.

with words growing
from irregular breath
barely tinted air

no triumph sought
just the act
of raising a voice

Thanks for making
My time as host
So enjoyable!!
Your word for Nov. 15 is: raise
Happy writing one and all!!
It’s a pinch
Tiny but constant
Just below my breastbone
A warning foreboding
Trees of an ancient forest
Echo through its splintered branches
As I #raise my wings
To do the Devils bidding
Other worldly beings flank me
….The end be nigh

Right. Just like I was posting the main prompt there and then support posting here, it will probably be the reverse. Main prompt here and support post on xitter. I’m very enthusiastic about this platform and the community.
So has vss365 formally moved over to bsky? Because that would be awesome!
I heard Australia has some of the world’s best coffee. Is that true?
I did get a kind of instant coffee shipped from Australia for several years before they closed shop. It was fantastic while it lasted.
