@andrewwestratoo
The lens of humanity is a prism whereby most opinions can be understood if you realize they are just different shades coming from the same source of light. Astronomy lover, owned by two big dogs. Russia belongs in Russia. Period.

I dunno, should I answer? I'm thinking:
"I doubt it, bit good luck with your quest! Let me know how it turns out."
Imagine my shock when I got into a cab in Kyiv and my cab driver Vadim was wearing this shirt. Turns out his girlfriend moved to Winnipeg last year and sent back gifts. Shout out to her, I laughed so hard.
If I were them, Iβd just say βSuit yourself. Weβre going with the stock photos already on file then.β
We had the same! Pulled chicken on the side with the perogies, and a salad. Always a quick and easy. π
Godβ¦men!
1. Vacation time
2. Grandchildren (or children - you pick!)
3. Birthdays
Did my good deed for the day, helping an older lady who got her car stuck in a frozen snow drift. She called a tow truck, guy showed up in a pickup with all season tires and ratchet straps. What a useless company! Fortunately I had tow straps, and pushing gave it the extra bit needed. Karma +10
Itβs like having a topping on a great cup of coffee, isnβt it. Sure, the topping is great and adds to the flavour, but without that great cup below to fulfil the experience, itβs all fluff.
I ask that same question of my wife every day. I suppose weβll just have to wait and see, and be the best mechanical version of ourselves we can be.
At this point, agree 100%! But I realize that if we can distinguish between what is safe and what isnβt, what is a road and what isnβt, AI driving will eventually too - without the distracted possibilities humans have. AI is also only as good as its sensors, so dirt issues need solving too.
Made it back home after a very long day. Our flight landed 6 hours late and by the time we crawled into bed it was just past 4AM.
But as wonderful travel is, itβs good to be home!
Apparently none of them needed to be airlifted to trauma centres, sounds like they were very lucky.
Landed in Toronto, flight to Wpg is delayed 4 hours. Chatting with FiL in Owen Sound who relayed a story about 23 ice fishermen up from TO were warned by locals ice was breaking up. Ignored the warnings and went out, including with their children, no life jackets. "Idiots" isn't strong enough!
At Amsterdam Schipol airport, heading home. Only 2.5 hours flight delay so far. π«€
Hey, I like it! When you compare it to the incessant drivel that is 95% of the shows out there these days, Iβll take a show that reveals a bit of our unknown history any day. As long as you can see past βtheir curseβ and the unfilled promise of treasure, itβs quite interesting actually.
How we start our mornings - birds, bells, coffee, and great company! We may be a little bleary-eyed at this point!
A crisp ginger cookie, shaped like a windmill
Our morning start, coffee and these yummy ginger cookies which I remember my grandfather giving us as a treat during visits, when we were young.
It's his second bike here, the first one, he made the mistake of buying new and nice looking. Locks cut and gone in 1 week!
The more worn, the better is that moral. π€·π»ββοΈ
It was a good day, we got a bike for our son's use while in university here, then picked out a record player for his birthday gift, complete with Nirvana's self-titled album and the Deftones White Pony album to start him out right. Vinyl is officially back!
Statue - a tribute to Anne Frank
A statue tribute to Anne Frank.
Starting the day right with a cappuccino for me, latte for Laura and breakfast for 2
Canals are a must-view on a day like this, especially!
The Dom Tower in the background, on our stroll
Bitterballen, a savoury breaded ball with a sort of beef ragout filling, dipped in a mild mustard sauce. Definitely recommend!
Starting the morning right with coffee and breakfast for 2. A walk along the canals, the Dom Tower in the background, and bitterballen - a savoury breaded ragout beef filling.
Close up of a male duck and it's iridescent green cheeks
A closeup of the female duck, its royal blue tipped wings
We had visitors join us for coffee this morning.
Eutrecht, NL βΊοΈ
Killing time now as our plane is undergoing maintenance to fix an unexpected problem (today is "feast or famine" day apparently).
Reminiscing our last trip where I got my Viking on! "Look mean, the man said. OK...I can do that.
Made it to pur connection in Toronto, about to board to Amsterdam. (*Whew*)
Yeah, but has he ever eaten liver from a toilet seat?
I generally try to avoid the orgam designed to filter toxins from our body. π€·π»ββοΈ
A moderately busy gate area at Winnipeg's Richardsaon Airport
We are marginally delayed at this point (as are 10 other flights), but otherwise on our way to Eutrecht!
