Ha! I was updating a scene last night where a side character, who is a writer, killed off a character and his editor threw a fit and made him "un-kill" them.
I know :) I grew up hearing the same thing as a kid!
Same. I totally get why someone won't read 3rd because I almost refuse to read 1st. Mostly because they are so badly written these days. The combination of 1st POV, AI writing, and trope saturation has put me off trying most new romance writers. I prefer close 3rd and that's what I tend to write.
I live in California now and I'm shocked with people pick poppies because picking bluebonnets is illegal.
It's gated but I can guess based on the teaser and comments here. In a reader group recently someone said they can't see themselves as the MC unless it's written in 1st POV. Having never thought of myself as the MC when I read, that's just an odd take to me but it seems to be the norm now.
Impressive! Today's was awful. I got it but I'm still not sure how :\

Nine is amazing!!
Car is back in the shop for the third time now. The steering rack failed again. Yesterday they realized that it may be the power steering pump is bad and that's what's causing these repeated failures. I asked the other two times if it could be the pump, and they said no. 😐
For some strange reason I woke up an hour earlier than usual this morning so I was wide awake at 7 wondering if I'd gotten it wrong and we "fell back" instead of "springing forward". I still have no idea what time it really is but I'm ready for lunch!
Their CO probably said Jesus told him to so it's fine.
I have a very clear memory from when I was 9 years old and we were driving in the procession to the cemetery after my grandfather's funeral. A man on the side of the road took his cap off and just stood there with is head bowed as we drove by. Respect from a stranger for a stranger. As it should be.

One of the things I like most about Bluesky is how encouraging people are to artists and writers. I've seen way more people say "Post your stuff and let us celebrate with you" then people saying not to. So post your stuff! Oh, and tag #booksky or use 💙📚 so readers see you, and not just writers.
