It seems like the very smart people out there should be able to think of a solution. Although maybe the issue is having a solution that also makes a profit.

YouTube voice replies are now available to all creators.
This lets you record and post voice replies to comments on your own channel using the YouTube and YouTube Studio mobile apps. Only the transcription of the recording appears on desktop (so speak clearly!).

Google Vids also added 2D and 3D cartoon avatars, meant to be more approachable and engaging than realistic avatars (which I think are a bit uncanny valleyish).

The free browser-based (desktop only) Google Vids video editor is available to everyone with a Google Account, but free personal accounts don't have access to all the generative AI tools.
You can use Google Vids to create either landscape or vertical videos and it's integrated with Google Drive.

Google Vids now lets you create videos up to 30 minutes long (previously 10 minutes).
You can import video and audio clips up to 90 minutes/4GB, but they need to edited down to 30 minutes for full editing capabilities.

You should definitely not share your Amazon wishlist publicly or with anyone you don't trust. Because third-party sellers are now included, that means they have to share your address, and that could be revealed to the purchaser as well.
Amazon suggests using a PO box or non-residential address.

You're receiving this notice because you have one or more Amazon Lists that are shared with others and have a delivery address set up. We're writing to inform you about an upcoming change to Amazon Lists. Starting March 25, 2026, we will remove the option to restrict purchases from third-party sellers for list items. When this change takes effect, gift purchasers will be able to purchase items sold by third-party sellers from your lists and your delivery address will be shared with the seller for fulfillment. This change will provide gift purchasers with access to a wider selection of items when shopping from your lists.

Important note: When gifts are purchased from your shared or public lists, Amazon needs to provide your shipping address to sellers and delivery partners to fulfill these orders. During the delivery process, your address may become visible to gift purchasers through delivery updates and tracking information. To help protect your privacy, we recommend using a PO Box or non-residential address for any list you share with public audiences.

Below are your recently used shared and public lists. For each list, you can go to β€œManage List” to review sharing settings or update delivery addresses.

Amazon is making a change to Wishlists that may make your address visible to gift buyers, starting on March 25, 2026.

They recommend you get a PO Box to protect yourself from accidentally being doxxed.

When I dove into Asimov's books as a teen, I somehow didn't notice this at all.

(I think there's significance in Baley's affections being aimed at Daneel, a robot that is able to pass as a human man, rather than an actual human).

There's so much promotion of "GEO" and "AI SEO" when the actual requirement is just regular SEO for Google Search (I thought I suppose that doesn't sell).

It's always amusing to read press releases where platforms make it sound like they invented a feature. This sounds like a nice update for both fans and creators, but video podcasts definitely aren't a new thing.

The Ars Technica article writer has apologized, with the explanation that he was sick, rushed and took shortcuts.

Misjudgements like that from an experienced writer mean that there should always be fact checkers (which is something MSM used to do)

It feels more important than ever for human gatekeepers to ensure that only factual information is published. Which can be a pretty thankless job.
