To my knowledge the app still works, if it's ever actually broken you can ping my main and I'll look into it... it sure is due for a rewrite but I haven't had the time to focus on Blockenheimer.

I've tried keeping it slow enough to keep it within rate limits, I'm not investing further effort into supporting this use-case. Blocking *thousands* of people is really not the point of this tool.

it's in local storage so unless you have malware on your computer it is not a problem

Blockenheimer really isn't intended for this kind of mass blind blocking! The code is open source, I won't stop you from implementing this yourself, but I'd advise using more caution.

I don't actively look at this account, but if ever the app stops working entirely, contact me using the email in my bio and I'll fix it!

I added follower/following after people asked for it, but originally the point was to protect yourself from transphobia based on retweets.
As in, if someone is willing to retweet an explicitly transphobic post, they're probably transphobic, and it's quicker to block all of those people at once.

Some people are extremely aggressive. I've seen people block everyone who follows @bsky.app! But nobody subscribes to a useless list like that.
So don't worry if you're on a few lists called "blockenheimer". Probably at most one user actually uses that list — the person who made it, and no one else.

Every person makes *their own* blockenheimer list, and you choose what to put in your own list.

If you find a post that tells people to harass you, you can choose that post and add everyone who liked it to *your* own list. That's the point.

We don't manage any lists ourselves, any lists called "Blockenheimer" are managed by one of our users, and we have no influence over the contents of these lists.

(well, i do use my own app myself, but it's on my personal account and i don't recommend anyone other than me subscribe to it)

We don't (can't!) collect any data, the app touches Bluesky servers directly.

Our app is open source: codeberg.org/xormetric/bb... so you can build and host it yourself, and the bundle (code ran on your browser) isn't minified, you can just read it all straight from the browser's developer tools.

Blockenheimer now owns its identity!

This account is using the did:web DID method (blockenheimer.click/.well-known/...) and is hosted on my own PDS, meaning we're not reliant in any way on Bluesky's infrastructure anymore.

In order to take advantage of Bluesky's decentralized identity features, we are migrating to a new account: @new.blockenheimer.click.

If you're concerned about accidentally blocking too many people: you can use Blockenheimer's "mute all" button instead!

Blockenheimer creates a mute list to contain its mutes. Thus, you can instantly disable all of Blockenheimer's mutes, and posts hidden by Blockenheimer mutes are labeled as such.
