Best bloom of pincushion cactus I’ve ever seen! The colour of these pincushion cactus blooms is a camera sensor-buster and it made me go down a rabbit hole of cactus flower anatomy. This is one of 3 species of cacti native to #Saskatchewan (other 2 are prickly pears) 🌿🌵

Elegant tern highway here in South County San Diego. My favorite summer bird. They fly over the beach day & night over our homes from the bay to the ocean to hunt anchovies. We hear them all day long & continuing all night long. Back and forth constantly. Love it. Added a few close ups. 🪶
