I don't know if this answers the whole question, but staged boxing is just stage fighting. It has none of the genuine athleticism of staged wrestling, a complicated mix of acrobatics and feats of strength.

You're defending her words as a defense attorney might. "Technically, she didn't say this." I think it is worth holding government officials to a higher standard than "barely plausible deniability."
If she wanted to communicate that all avenues *short* of a draft were on the table in terms of Trump's dedication to defending all US bases and interests in the region (an absolutely Herculean task), the ball was right in her court there, conversationally speaking. She just had to lob it back.
