Newsmax host: Zohran Mamdani “almost looks like Saddam Hussein here. He doesn't look like a nice man.”

I've never even heard of most of these, and with many of the rest, I've only heard their titles, and know nothing else about them. I had no idea until just now that the No. 1 show in the country even existed.

And who just gave this corporation a pardon?

Donald Trump.

With David Ellison on the verge of acquiring CNN and merging it with the Bari Weiss-run CBS News, at least one anchor at the cable news giant seems to be hinting to his potential new bosses that he’s on board with their mission.

Weiss’s all-consuming obsession with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has reached a crescendo in recent days.

This has been reflected by her “heterodox” digital outlet, The Free Press, where Olivia Reingold – the reporter behind the atrocious story downplaying starving Gaza children – reported on the Instagram likes by Mamdani’s wife, Rama Duwaji.

Taking a cue from that overblown Jewish Insider story about Duwaji liking posts that “celebrated” the October 7 attacks (they didn’t), Reingold published a piece denouncing the NYC first lady for liking over 70 posts of “radical anti-Israel content.” (Hey, remember when Weiss said that no one should “have their reputation destroyed or lose their job because of a mistake or liking a bad tweet”?)

With Reingold ridiculously accusing Duwaji of “Holocaust inversion” because she liked a post that described a notorious Israeli prison known for excessive human rights violations as a “concentration camp,” the Free Press writer opened herself up to online criticism – not least of which from Drop Site founder Ryan Grim.

After Grim defended one post that Duwaji liked that claimed the mainstream media had peddled a “mass rape hoax” surrounding the Oct. 7 attacks, noting that many allegations of sexual assault by Hamas on that day had been debunked, CNN anchor Jake Tapper entered the fray. Besides retweeting a right-wing pro-Israel account that blasted Grim as “terror propaganda,” Tapper also booked Reingold to appear on his show to discuss Duwaji’s social media likes.

Trump’s Monday afternoon speech, however, bumped the Reingold segment at the last minute. According to progressive pundit Sam Seder, he was also supposed to appear on the show to talk about the Reingold story, though he apparently wasn’t scheduled to debate her.

A day later, however, Tapper made up for it by bringing on Liberal Fascism author and hardcore neocon Jonah Goldberg to rail against Mamdani, his wife, and the couple hosting pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil – whom Goldberg ludicriously called an “outright apologist for terrorism” and likened to the Ku Klux Klan. Tapper, for his part, also joined in criticizing both Khalil and Duwaji.

The segment, which Grim called “just incredible,” sparked blowback from many on the left. “Didn’t think it was possible but the Ellisons might actually have to ask Tapper to tone it down,” cartoonist Eli Valley snarked on X, while Jewish Currents contributing editor David Klion noted that the “Bari ownership of CNN seems almost redundant.”

Referencing the bumped segment from Monday, Seder’s co-host Emma Vigeland said that it was “interesting” that Tapper brought it back on Tuesday. “(I get it, slow news day) with two panelists critical of Mamdani,” she concluded. “Good tape for the Ellisons, though.”

Anyway, did you all know that Weiss once platformed the “leading groyper politician” in America? That could be something worth looking into for Tapper, if he were so inclined.

Interesting one-two in my feed:

CNN: guy is talking

NYT: guy is saying specific things of great import

Advantage NYT on this one, fascinating though it is that this is the FIRST TIME Khamenei is speaking.

You’d think Trump constantly targeting the Representative that advocated for Epstein transparency would be generally treated like a pretty obvious consciousness of guilt move, but the coverage of Trump has had more than a decade’s practice in avoiding the obvious.

But it's definitely good that @warren.senate.gov is "working with" him on a "bipartisan" antitrust measure that is doomed to fail.

12.03.2026 00:46 👍 2 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0

What clearer evidence do we need for the preceding than the fact that they constantly hector liberals for turning fascists into fascists by calling them fascists, but never, ever ask conservatives really *anything* about their far more incendiary, and false, accusations against liberals?

12.03.2026 00:44 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

And they're not even balanced, either! They favor conservatives. By default they cover conservatives as well-intentioned and liberals as, at best, misguided.

12.03.2026 00:39 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

What really pisses me off about the political media is that I *truly believe* in impartial, objective journalism. Or at least, that there's value in it and that we should have it. But that's not what they're doing, at all. They're play-acting at it. And they're mistaking "balanced" for "objective."

12.03.2026 00:39 👍 4 🔁 1 💬 1 📌 0

The irony is that political journalists have all turned *themselves* into the same simplistic, badly rendered abstraction. You can't really tell one from the other. They all think exactly like this guy does.

12.03.2026 00:31 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

People with attributes like that surely exist (though the "skepticism" of the conservative guy...I mean, c'mon). But the point is that they those are gross, and wrong, stereotypes of both conservatives and liberals. Abstractions. What real people say and do means nothing to the political media.

12.03.2026 00:29 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

And when they think of "a liberal," they picture a screechy, young, pronoun-obsessed, green-haired white woman with a nose ring. She's very judgmental. She hates capitalism in all its forms, and is driven by rage. She is also entirely made up.

12.03.2026 00:26 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

When they think of "a conservative," they picture a reserved, churchgoing, exurban white guy who maybe sells tractor parts. He's a good family man and kind to his neighbors. He's "skeptical" about immigration and trans rights, but is driven by communitarian ideals. He is entirely made up.

12.03.2026 00:23 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Oh, and he's never asked a conservative whether their constant, radical accusations against liberals tend to make liberals more radical (or hateful, or insane).

It's as if all the auto mechanics in America decided that engines actually run on grape juice. That's the level of delusion here.

Have you ever once asked a self-described conservative whether characterizing liberals as “socialist” or “Communist” would turn them into those things?

Do you believe that essentially all conservatives (with a few exceptions) have in recent years turned fascist, sexist, and racist, or stopped hiding the fact that they were those things? If yes, do you believe that they turned fascist, sexist, and racist because people noted that they were acting like fascists, sexists, and racists?

The questions.

He also responded that he doesn't believe that essentially all conservatives are fascists, though he gave no indication of what he thinks the proportions are.

I told him that he and his cohorts have built an abstraction of reality, and they cover that rather than reality itself.

I emailed some questions to Marchese, and he answered (I'll paste them in next). I won't quote him because I hadn't told him I'm a journalist, but suffice to say that he doubled down on this idea that liberals are to blame for fascism. They all think like that, because they are in a cult.

Pretty sure everyone I know on the list (much longer than what is shown) would say the same.

Grammarly can fuck off to the edge of the universe and keep fucking off beyond that.
