2025 recap: where did the year even go? I usually have a clearer idea of how these posts will go, but the past few months have been flying past me in a whirlwind and it’s proving hard to find the words to describe what has been a complete blur. In any event, here is my 2025 recap, such as it is!

whew, no idea where 2025 even went! life has sure been lifing and I've been pretty much absent from social media these past few months (which I'm hoping to remedy!), but there's been a lot of good as well. happy new year all, and here's to a gentle and creative 2026!

reread Kafka’s Metamorphosis recently

Three trumpeter swans stand on the edge of the ice on a partially frozen body of water. Two of the swans are large all-white adults. The adult swan closest to the camera has a yellow identification tag on their wing. The swan in the middle is smaller, grey-feathered, and preening their tail. This swan is a juvenile.

Happy winter birding season! I do a lot of birding and had the wonderful opportunity to visit this family of 8 trumpeter swans. Look at these beautiful birds!

I'm drawing every day but mostly for projects that are in progress so I'll probably use this year's #ArtAdventCalendar event to look back at my favorite drawings I did this year, starting with this one! I had the idea of the outline of a white cat against a garden and it slowly evolved into this.
