In my English IV classes, we are studying 1984. It’s hard to pretend it’s fiction anymore. Reading about doublethink and the mutability of the past, and watching the principles of authoritarianism unfold in our society is terrifying. Make Orwell fiction again before it’s too late.

It’s sourdough day here. Loaf one is in the oven and smells heavenly. I am trying a “San Francisco Sourdough” recipe instead of my standard Pain au Levain, I’ll be looking at differences

It doesn’t make much of a picture yet, but I’m creating a cassoulet with Mexican flavors. Chilies, chorizo, chicken, pork, and spices. So far the flavors are fantastic. Of course the beans are from @ranchogordo.bsky.social
