Today is Billy Frank Jr. Day — a day to celebrate Billy's leadership, activism, and dedication to environmental stewardship.

On my first day of signing bills, we covered a lot of ground in housing — condos, modular housing, scissor stairs, middle housing, and more.

We need a lot more housing of all kinds. Thanks to the Legislature for their bipartisan work in this area.

He's committed to pro bono work, for which he has received numerous awards, including the American Civil Liberties Union’s Humanitarian Award for his work on behalf of unrepresented minors in immigration proceedings.

I'm proud to announce Theo Angelis as our next Washington State Supreme Court Justice.

In his 25 years of legal practice, Theo has handled dozens and dozens of appeals on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants, giving him a broad perspective.

The first bill I introduced last year was to fund free school lunch and breakfast for all Washington students.

This version of the Millionaires' Tax will make that happen.

I strongly encourage the Legislature to pass this bill in its current form. It represents a historic step forward in rebalancing our unfair system and making life more affordable for Washington families and small business owners.

The latest amendments to the bill achieve these critical goals and will help make our state more affordable. The Millionaires' Tax will:

Expand the Working Families Tax Credit to 460,000 additional households.

Provide tax relief to nearly 140,000 small businesses...

I’ve said from the beginning of the discussion around the Millionaires’ Tax: Any bill I sign must send a significant percentage of that revenue back to Washington families and small business owners...

Hungry kids can’t learn, and this funding puts money back in the pockets of Washington families.

I will sign this version of the Millionaires' Tax.
