Fair point, I usually don't think of gelatin because Vietnamese food tends to use agar agar or other vegetable sources but absolutely this needs to be on my radar
(I ran all of the ingredients past the person who was planning to eat it and needed it halal, just in case)
Me, turning ovze a box of Vietnamese sweets I brought into the office: ah-ha, I've established it doesn't use pork fat or alcohol. It should be halal
(obv Muslim colleagues will take it as to-go for consuming later, but it's easily packable)
