I don't disagree with you. The point I'm making is, we are going to have to go back to the EU, cap in hand, and apply to be let back in. They know the state of Britain at the moment, so they hold all the cards.

Yes. That's my point. Our membership with the EU, prior to Brexit, was a very privileged one, and we don't have the capital to ask for anything other than rejoining under the same terms as everyone else.
