I think Oligarchs are generally atheists...but maybe not. They worship power, and they have succeeded in obtaining and retaining it. While their power persists, they are in their Heaven, and when they lose it, they are in their Hell. All of the gum-flapping about religion can safely be ignored

The objectives of oligarch-led extremist Hamas are not the objectives of all muslims.

Turning Lebanese towns and Gaza and Iran into rubble does not protect Jewish people in Israel, Pittsburgh, or Michigan.

It only serves oligarchs who thrill to the fire they've started. They are poised to benefit.

It favors oligarchs, period. Some of those are Jewish, but that's not really the point. Oligarchs are keen to loop in religious/cultural associations and differences as a vehicle. The vehicle of conflation they've created is a veritable Ferrari.

Indeed, this may be a moment in which we can FINALLY understand this sort of conflation with a clear eye.

The objectives of oligarch-led MAGA are not the objectives of the United States and all Americans.

The objectives of oligarch-led right wing Kahanists are not the objectives of all Jews.

Just like his fellow Christians who sacked Christian Constantinople in 1204 when their Crusade plans fell through. Yep, same folks

When we speak of a rightward lurch from NPR, we need to understand the role of Republican Steve Inskeep.

There will be no coalition of Dems including proponents of and opponents of this war. That coalition will not coalesce. It's impossible.

Let's cut to the chase here. Joining the MAGA Cult makes your peen tiny. Trump has a tiny moldy toadstool as a peen, and his Florsheim Cabinet wouldn't dare to exceed him. Cue The Giant Shrinking Sound

Nope. Leverage is not what compels Trump to do Bibi's bidding. It is Trump's sheer stupidity and vulnerability, manipulating him is child's play.

To align with your prior point - Hamas is unspeakably vile and the murderous actions of Oct 7 must be vehemently condemned. We need to discover how these actions were possible...

But bombing schools is how we win hearts and minds, right? It's how we build a popular movement for regime change?

The long and bitter relationship between Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas have a tortured relationship dating back to the 1990s. Yet at various times, the hardline policies of one have boosted the other.

But let's go back to this earlier point - why was Bibi so unprepared for Oct 7? And why has he, at various times, been supportive of Hamas?

Not sure why you're accepting his framing so uncritically. Hamas isn't a group that registers and gets issued a uniform. It's certainly not a group that acts coherently and in unison.

Yes, there are extremists that are Hamas, just as there are murderous extremists among Kahanists.

As we have seen, they're more than willing to just turn schools into rubble. In fact that's their main go-to

I'm here to tell you that without that journey of understanding, it hardly matters who/what you pray to.

For those who need the vestiges or token of tribal affiliation, maybe they need to restart the journey and do it for real this time

I think the key is to not let some religious text guide your actions.

We should take personal responsibility for moral decisions - by learning to understand what morality and ethics are, and learning how to align our actions accordingly.

Zohran and Talarico have done that, arguably other have also

True, but he'd be good if he were a muslim or an atheist, methinks.

I'd prefer he wasn't known as a christian, to be honest. It doesn't necessarily mean anything good to me
