Sending you all my best wishes for a resounding rebuff to Trump.

Thank you so much, we're counting on you.

Unfortunately, though, because he is VP get at least the remainder of the term. He could still do a lot of damage & he is the darling of the oligarch robber barons. He probably believes that their money would allow him to rig an election in his favour. I think he's really dangerous.

For that reason, our leaders can't afford to bully, threaten or coerce members of Parliament. Unfortunately, Trump seems to have bullied GOP members into total sycophancy or silence & they now have to wear his madness. That doesn't make for a healthy democracy.

Yes, I think it's a flaw in the American system. Australia has the Westminster system where if the leader was stuffing up as badly as Trump, he would be tapped shoulder and be gone & a new leader would appoint a new cabinet. The leader only leads while he has the support of his party.

Trouble is even if he's gone you're going to be left with Vance - a smarter, slicker, just as malevolent leader with a questionable set of values & who operates purely on ambition & self-interest. Let's face it America, you're pretty much screwed until 2028 when you'll get a chance to stop the rot.

If you asked those who state that they intend to vote ON to describe the party's policies on health, education, industry, foreign affairs or taxation which they find so attractive, they would struggle to explain them. Hanson taps into Australia's racist underbelly. That's ON's game & it's working.

This is the kind of inhumane, murderous rhetoric you get when a fanatical, dim-witted, homicidal maniac is in charge of the world's most powerful military machine & is willing to do anything to please Trump, including breaking US & international law.

13.03.2026 18:49 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Yes it's frightening. We poor suckers in the rest of the world are counting on Americans to use the midterms to severely curb his madness. If the election doesn't happen it will be disastrous for all of us.

Sorry USA but the person in charge of your military is a dangerous, mentally challenged, psychologically unfit idiot who believes he has a right to brainwash your military leaders to become slaves to his sick ideology. He is insane.

No offence taken at all. It gave me a laugh too. I should doublecheck what I write before I post but I tend to just shoot from the hip. I'm a silly old duffer. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ To tell the truth, I slipped up and put the quotation marks in the wrong spot, but I'm glad you liked it. There's similar lyrics in John Farnham 's song "That's Freedom" as well. I'm still shaking my head at how we've got to this point that we're banning words like river & sea. Total madness.

I was thinking, if they just printed " two strong hearts" above "from the river to the sea bit" they should be sweet. All these policing of certain phrases is just getting a bit ridiculous, isn't it?

Didn't someone suggest it was 1700 trucks per oil tanker? It might be hard to miss that many even if they were painted sand colour. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

That's exactly what I was thinking. Wouldn't the bills presented be largely devised by him and his administration? Isn't that called cutting off your nose to spite your face?

Hallelujah! Fantastic news. The Trump name on a building looming over an Australian city for decades to come would have been a travesty. The USA might be stuck with having to remember him but there's no reason that we should be. So pleased to hear that won't be happening.

I think the problem would be that the industrial port facilities in Oman are actually on the Strait of Hormuz so even trucking oil would still mean it needs to loaded in the Strait.

Correct.

I have a petrol hybrid. It's a few years old but it literally runs on the smell of an oily rag. Unless I I go on a road trip and have to fill it once or twice in a couple of weeks, for just local driving I only fill it about once every 3 to 4 weeks. Right now I'm very grateful to have it.

While we're coming up with stupid ideas to fix a problem entirely of the USA's making, surely a pipeline which would take a decade to build, would be more sensible. Just like a convoy of trucks it would be a perfect target for missile attack. Man, there's a lot of idiots out there.

Ed's a big loss to the cabinet but at least it's allowing him to speak his mind. We need more of this kind of truth telling.

What a total deception! The problem with our medical system is not migrants. In fact rely on 1000s of overseas medical professionals to prop up the system. Limited university & hospital places has ensured we are not training enough homegrown medical professionals. Let's make it worse shall we?

That was my thought exactly. He's not a smart man.

Exactly & of course a distraction from the Epstein files was also useful.

Yes, and now unfortunately homeowners are so wedded to the idea of their houses going up 5-10% a year that they resist sensible housing policy which would increase supply & lower demand. We're effectively stealing the future from young Australians. We need a shift in mindset as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, most people who own a house on the east coast of Australia are now effectively millionaires. That's the root of the problem. Housing is now so ridiculously inflated, if bought a house 40 years ago & paid it off, like me, it's become the main source of your wealth. Housing is a mess.

USA, are you getting those "he was like this during COVID" vibes, because I am? It's obvious that in a crises,Trump is vague, inarticulate, indecisive & incapable of telling the American people the truth. It's a mystery to me why you decided to give him a second chance to prove his incompetence.
