"Genocide" and "War Crimes" are two concepts that belong to a unique class: ideas that should carry moral weight and that people believe carry moral weight but all modern evidence points overwhelmingly to the contrary.

This issue of Ireland’s GCN covers the challenges around trans healthcare in Ireland & the current failures of the service. Transgress, a grassroots org, has managed to get the Minister & Deputy Minister of Health to commit to change. I know this is a vital area for Queer ppl moving here*
I reposted this back in 2023 and it just gave me a laugh again.
unfortunately this is a great example of Irish local government working exactly as designed: the bulk of executive decision-making power rests with the professional managerial class, not with elected representatives
I feel like I am taking crazy pills - for every 1 rental property in Cork, there's 4 Airbnbs - this is lunacy in the middle of a decade-long housing crisis. Like, wtf are we doing here?
Yeah, is recommend checking that.
Our heat pump is Dimplex and it's been arguably more straightforward than older timer thermostats.
We almost never touch it.
The only kinda funky thing we've used is the "holiday" setting.
If you see a news story about an attack on a synagogue and your first reaction is to start ranting about Israel then there is really nothing anybody can do to help you
Huge congrats to @blueprincegame.bsky.social winning Best Design at the Game Developer’s Choice Awards. Well deserved, and couldn’t have gone to a nicer developer. 💙💙💙
"Palantir CEO Alex Karp says his AI technology will lessen the power of “highly educated, often female voters, who vote mostly Democrat” while increasing the power of working-class men."
Just saying it right out loud now.

This is one of those times where it's *absolutely* broke, you just don't recognize it. I promise.
I love the "could this be a solution" post because it's a perfect example of Founder brain. You have to be a special kind of stupid to imagine that you are the first person to come up with the idea of driving around the Strait of Hormuz. It's being so dumb that you think everyone else is even dumber
A procurement crisis absolutely everyone saw coming but which the Department of Health and MoD will now have to tackle, with zero good outcomes – as they've both now signed contracts and have technical reliance on Palantir.
Anti-Trans Health Secretary & Labour leadership hopeful Wes Streeting claims his segregation of trans people in the NHS are to “protect (cis) women”.
Yet he brought Palantir into the NHS, something that its CEO has now admitted will specifically harm cis women.
Streeting and Palantir must go.
can this be a solution
Some Tech CEO every day: "You don't get to own things now. I own your refrigerator. If you say mean things about me I will turn off your fridge and spoil all your dairy and eggs and meat. If you don't like it you go to jail."
People in my mentions: "Lmao are you REALLY a luddite? smh"
“The BBC heard or went to the scenes of seven Israeli strikes on Wednesday. The ones we saw the aftermath of in Nabatieh were in areas that were not under official Israeli evacuation orders at the time, and locals and first responders said no warnings had been given.

This is Nathan Cavanaugh, another DOGE staffer explaining how he flagged grants at NEH for "DEI" which would be reviewed for termination. 404 Media has reviewed hours of this footage and we'll have more soon.

Something I've been trying to do lately is formulate my principles and beliefs in positive rather than negative terms - "I believe X" rather than "I'm not like those fucking guys" - and it's been a useful and (I think) healthy little reorientation
A very good and extremely cool article about professional scold and embarrasment Katharinee Birbalsingh by Séamas J. O'Reilly which you can read in its entirety at the following link, but which has here been printed out and presented to a 15 year old girl who now thinks I am "cool". https://www.theguardian.com/society/2025/mar/01/the-dogma-of-britains-strictest-headmistress-is-a-con-as-old-as-time-gentle-parenting-produces-happier-kids
It's finally happened. One of my nieces or nephews has had to offer analysis on one of my articles for her GCSE mocks.
THEY CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
Pure greed - the Irish fecker who exploited and humiliated this guy sold his house in Dublin and moved abroad
And in case there is any doubt about this, environmental groups have brought the CRU to the high court to object to their policy which green lights these damaging DC-energy infrastructure projects.
Report on that @rte.ie.

Like, none of the transphobes on the Nazi site seem to have realised this, but “Agent Forstater” has just completely shat on every single argument that her side make, relating to personal safety, to the threat they claim trans people present to them, and to which side is encroaching on whose spaces.
its only been like a week and this is already one of the stupidest things anyone's ever posted
I have a new piece up at @rockpapershotgun.bsky.social — it’s about when I got hacked in Dark Souls 2, used hacker tools to unhack myself, and then talked to my hacker years later
Incidentally the “Gaiman is autistic” defense these people use is not only very insulting to autistic people, who understand consent, but is … a little implausible given that he’s an incredibly emotionally skilled person! That - and talent - made his career: LBJ level social skills.

@SuzieD755164 - 17h HERE'S WHO TO CONTACT REGARDING THIS APPALLING POSTER 0 ... Shannon Community Partnership receives funding from Clare Co Council and the Arts Council. St Patrick's Day is Ireland's national day. 9 .. It marks the feast of our patron saint and celebrates Irish history, Irish music and Irish culture. Everyone is welcome to celebrate with us. Ireland has always been welcoming. But the day should remain about Ireland. Turning St Patrick's Day into a global "celebrate every culture" festival misses the point. Every nation deserves one day each year that honours its own heritage. Ireland deserves the same.
Over on X, the everything app, after getting bored harassing a fun run, and Dublin Zoo, they've now turned their attention to a regional St Patrick's Day parade for being "inclusive".
Volunteers and organisers are being targeted for harassment, and already a sitting TD has joined in on the pile on.
