Honestly Bleach is a goldmine for well written women (but then you had the one predatory lesbian...we dont talk about her). I'm glad it was my first intro into shonen/anime. I was absolutely in love with Rukia. But yeah yoruichi/soifon, tatsuki/orihime, isane/unohana were some good ones

For the longest time women were not written with anywhere near as much depth and complexity as male characters. Let alone having 2 well written women together in the same media. PLUS that you can relate to too. I feel like that has been better in recent years.

THIS. As a lesbian woman who grew up on mlm and relating to male characters, who only realised was a lesbian a couple years ago. There's definitely an element of seeing yourself in these dynamics & relating to the queerness, alongside the individual characters emotional depth and personal struggles.

Review so far: I'm loving it. It's funny going from Grace's tense and scary sections to Leon's action packed gore fest. I was giggling to myself after getting freaked out hiding from the first monster as Grace (outlast style) to then being Leon and mowing zombies down with a chainsaw
